I am going to chalk this up as a hangover game...

We kicked 5 FG's (a miracle in and of itself). We cash in on 2 or 3 or those - we score over 40 and win comfortably.

We are 6-2, bowl eligible, and hopefully will be 7-2 going into Bama. What's crazy is that it could be #19 Mississippi State versus #11 Alabama with both teams having identical 7-2 records if LSU wins next weekend.

7-2 - let that sink in.

Relf missed some wide open passes. Ballard didn't play. Perkins looked good. This is a game where we were barely serviceable in our play but still won. I'll take it. On to Kentucky.

Easy there. We're a not-fumble KO return away from being 5-3. No we're already 7-2?

I think the KY game will be tougher than the UAB game.

This team still has to be able to execute in the passing game. It's not like we just dont have a chance either, we just dont get it done. The throws are there, Relf is just missing them.

He missed Arceto Clark on a deep post route that would have been a 70 yarder. He missed someone (Clark maybe?) on a flag route in the 4th quarter because he threw it inside, when it should have gone outside.

Even on some swing passes, Bumphis or Heavens are making making catches around their knees.

If Relf can start to hit some of those we can beat UK, Ark, and OM.

UAB still had to go 70 yards in about a minute and a half with only one time out. I like our chances in that situation, even in a game the defense wasn't playing well.

but I am saying this now - this ain't your daddy's Mississippi State. Your daddy's Mississippi State would have lost that game tonight.

7-2 bitches!!!

what those officials would have done. I was more scared of them than I was UAB in that situation.

GOOD GAWD I love this attitude!!!! I've been a State fan since the mid 90's...so I got a little spoiled compared to our fore father dog fans. I never understood or accepted the attitude or mentality that we just have to be happy with a few 8 win seasons and a bowl game here and there or that we could never be a championship program. I know we never really have been one of those but that doesn't mean in the new landscape of college athletics and the money involved that we can can't make it happen. Is it harder for us to do it than the bama's and FL's...of course it is. BUT DAMN IT...IT IS POSSIBLE!!!! Get a good head coach (Dan Mullen) and a good supporting staff (Diaz, Hevesy) and an administration that puts some effort into it...and of course a fan base that cares and fills up a stadium 8 games in a row...then well...WE CAN 17'IN DO IT! Win or lose the rest of the season...the intensity of our coaches, players and fans... the attention OUR program has gotten over the last week is proof that no matter your budget...heart desire and support will carry you a long way!

If we come out as flat as we did against UAB, we are in trouble. I understand that we beat UF at the swamp, but winners learn how to manage that.

Sure "winners" handle this situation, but no player on this team has ever been ranked, or ever won in Gainesville, or ever been playing for bowl eligibility in October. I fully expected a let down kind of game. Granted, I thought this team could beat UAB by 10 or more even if they had a letdown. But, the only thing that surprised me about this game was Depasquale going 5 for 5. Give that man a game ball and a helmet sticker!

• On his team’s focus: “I was worried. That was a talented team we played, we were coming off a tough battle last week. We’re all being patted on the back by everybody this week in class, and told how good they are. To find a way to win a tough ballgame was fantastic.”</p>
