Since I haven't seen it yet, let me (possibly) be the first to say it. Our team has played their asses off this season. We play in the SEC West, the tougher division in the best conference in the World; and for us to expect to win at Auburn and beat LSU is saying quite a lot for Danny Mullen. <div>
</div><div>When he got here we were hoping to go to a bowl; now we expect to go to a bowl and think that that our team shouldn't lose a game. Even to one of the best teams in the nation.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div></div><div>
</div><div>We traveled to Auburn last Saturday and went down early. Our team scratched and fought to stay in that game, even taking the lead at one point. They played 60 minutes of hard-nosed SEC quality football. And then we turn around and play the #3 team in the country, LSU, WITH 5 DAYS TO PREPARE. If you honestly expected Miss. St. to win that game then you have got to shed a little bit of that wool. I was at the game and mad as hell the whole time because we weren't doing better against LSU. But on the way home - yes, I drove home that night - I had time to mull it over and I realized how well we did with such short time to prepare and how exhausted our players must have been coming into the game. </div><div>
</div><div>We lost to LSU by 13pts. Two possessions. With only 5 days to prepare. A team that We have only lost two games early in the season, and if we can win at UGA who knows how this season can turn out. </div><div>
</div><div>We havea first time head coach, so he is still learning. Clock management will get better. Our defense will get better or we'll have a new scheme - if you know what I mean. One thing a high school kid likes in a coach is results. Not only on the field but on the board. When our players start moving up the draft board and we have some quality NFL picks, then those game-breakers will start coming in here. </div><div>
</div><div>It's only year 3. When we get those players we will win those games. We need some of those 1st-3rd rounders, and I think our coaching staff has that mold in stock. It may take 5yrs. (from his hire) before we can successfully compete against LSU, Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn through an entire season. But I have faith in Mullen and his program.</div>
