Is there any scenario where we add more varsity sports? We are about to be at an all time money high with the new TV deals. The 2 biggest sports that we don't have that most of the SEC does have are M/W swimming and diving, and women's gymnastics. I would love for us to also include men's soccer. We would be able to recruit the entire southeast since Kentucky and USC are the only 2 SEC schools that play it.

If we add something, I imagine it'll be women's equestrian since MSU considered it several years ago-- unless we go for women's bowling or women's rifle.
For some reason I thought we had a team when I was in school 92-97, could very well be wrong but it seems like we did have an equestrian team then.
As far as adding anything, I could care less what it is as I wouldn't follow it anyway. If it is good for the school great, but I would rather dump more money into the big three and try to further build those programs.
There was talk about it in the Clarion-Ledger. I remember reading about it but MSU decided not to act. It'd be likely that the main reason we'd add a sport would be because of Title IX reasons; however, there have been rumblings that the so-called proposed Division IV schools might have to sponsor more sports teams. I don't know how true that is if it happens but something I've seen pondered on the internet.
State used to have a rifle team back in the day, idk what happened to it. We should add gymnastics, there's alot of talent in the south. We would be the only school in Ms to have a team. (Pretty sure southern miss doesn't have one)
