If you would have bet me back in November that neither team would make the NCAA tournament I would have bet my house on it. I like Cohen and all but this team sucks and they will likely end the year in last place in the SEC.

If you were apathetic you wouldn't even be here posting about it.

There used to be nothing better than firing up the grill and turning on Jim Ellis and listening to Bulldog baseball. Tonight I watched "House Hunters" instead of even listening to a game against our arch rival.

Did they choose house number 2?

I just flip on live stats somewhere around the 3rd or 4th inning, see the score, and forget about the game. It's sad.

..during Cohen's first couple of years, it brought me too much embarrassment to keep up with MSU baseball.

Those teams were worse than Croom's worse football teams.

But I got sucked back in by last year's miracle run.

I was told (and believed myself) last year's great finish would act as a launching pad for heightened success this year.

Yet, like
Croom's post-Liberty bowl tenure, Cohen's super regional appearance was just all smoke & mirrors ********.

bleachers @ The Dude. Last night I still drank, but just checked Barts Twitter updates occasionally, didn't even turn on the tv. I live 15 minutes from Trustmark and still couldn't bring myself to drive and watch. Its not like Goat said, I'm not mad because we're losing. I'm just sick of following an uninspired bunch that make errors on routine plays, dont swing the bats, and are being propped up by a bunch of excuses. I went up for the opening weekend series against WA St and we had an infield full of nothing but sophs, fr and a juco catcher then Renfroe, CT and dont remember the other o.f. That was b4 all of the injuries and its year 4. Where are the upperclassmen leaders?

but why would anyone think last year was a "launching pad" for heightened success THIS YEAR when we basically had to replace the whole dang team minus a few pitchers? I know people get sick of hearing the "wait til next year" mantra BUT in this case I do think it applies. Next year will tell us most of what we need to know about where this program is really headed under Cohen.

I don't understand that comment at all. This team fights tooth and nail to get to where they have gotten, they play with grit and heart. I mean you really can't tell if someone is inspired or not from a twitter feed. This team is young, even experienced hitters get out 7-10 at bats, slumps are common when dealing with young hitters.

Anyone else think they are uninspired?

upperclassmen leaders are all pitchers because when cohen took over here we had a bunch pussies that threw it slow and could throw strikes...

Rea and some of these guys put in effort, but don't tell me everyone on that team cares. I know a couple of guys and for them it's just something to do when they're not at a sorority's party or hopping around the Cotton District.

It's unfair to say the team doesn't show fight, yes, but a few people who don't give a **** can ruin a team. But the truth is this, regardless of effort or anything else, this team isn't good in any category. When Cohen took over we needed pitchers, and in 2012 we still need pitchers. What's worse is Cohen is a batting guy and we've been average there too. Polk's bare cupboard produced our best players last season (I hate to sound like one of those Croom sympathisizers) and people are using their exit as an excuse to why we suck this year, but blame them for the spot Cohen has been on with this ****** team.

What's really just going to piss me off is when he's finally fired and our new coach knows what he's doing and wins games in years 1 and/or 2 some of you will credit Cohen, like Mark May crediting Croom for Mullen's success.

And don't even bring in the "recruiting is hard when you're not that good, so Cohen is doing his best" argument. There is no excuse to not have pitching this far into his tenure when that was priority #1 when he got the job, especially when the University of Rhode Island and all these schools who shouldn't have the bullpens they do have them.

strike out 16x's in a game to their rivals. Inspired teams aren't usually found 1 game out of last place in their division, 2 spots from the bottom in team batting, 2 spots from the bottom in team fielding. Inspired teams seem to find ways to win extra inning games. Thats what I mean by this team being uninspired.

I pretty much agree with you. Its not like we are getting shelled every game. I think they try hard but they just are not very good. It could be the youth, it could be the injuries, or it could be that they just stink at baseball. I have no clue but I don't think lack of effort is a big part of it.
