Nope. This is on Riley. Bo was a horrible coach. And Riley is showing to be the same.
Pelini must have been one hell of a coach because he won with poor talent and HCMR lost with all kinds of talent.
There are more than two people on the planet who can coach the Cornhuskers.

Pelini was not horrible - he was not good at running a program. Riley can't coach his way out of a wet paper sack.
Riley and staff are horrible. Don't know if Nebraska can ever expect to win 9-10 games under these clownshoes.
Pelini was bad but he doesn't lose this game. Riley is in a different universe with how effing terrible he is at his job.
did anybody expect different from Riley? He never won at Oregon state, is a 60 year old man trying to recruit players to nebraska, while fighting the idea that he will retire at the end of this contract. He had no chance, but he will be bad enough that we should be able to replace him with a long coaching search instead of waiting until the last moment to fire him. Coaches that always win 9 games are hard to fire in a timely manner.
He will be gone long before his contract is up. Luckily NU has more money now to pay yet another coach to not coach. SE pinned his hopes on a hire that left most of us speechless and hoping he was some genius for making the move. Nope turns out he's a damn fool. he needs to be shown the door as well when the Riley era hits rock bottom(which unfortunately may not be for a while.)

I hated Pelini and it was definitely time for his dismissal but Riley was a head scratcher hire from the beginning of his "one last great adventure"- for some reason that bothered and felt it wasn't serious to him

It's also ok to say that even if Riley fails, that it was still the right decision to fire Pelini. Just made the wrong hire.
