It was a representative from the Memphis ticket office. At first he was asking about my eperience at the State game, asked about any improvements I felt should be made, how many people I had with me, etc.. Then knowing full well that I wasa State fan, apparently with a State schedule in front of him, he asked if I would be interested in coming to another Memphis game this year. I know he had a State schedule because he said "Well I see you guys have a conflict this weekend and Nov. 12th, but what about x date, that's a Thursday night we are playing Marshall." And their AD believes they DESERVE to be in the SEC?

Wow, that is absolutely hilarious. Can you imagine getting a job at Memphis and being told you were going to be making cold calls to opposing fans trying to convince them to attend a game to a school they care nothing about?

Hopefully, conference expansion will eventually result in programs like Memphis dropping down to the FCS level where they can save money and quit trying to be competitive in a sport no Memphis fans care about.

Grinding for their program, one might even say.<div>
</div><div>Sure, it's a stretch that a fan of a SEC school is going to randomly travel back to see the nation's worst FBS team lose to MSTU or whatever, but at least they're trying.</div><div>
</div><div>If I was them, I'd audit the Memphis side of each game. Find the locals without a connection to UM and work them.</div>

I got the same call. I'm assuming everyone that ordered through the Memphis ticket office will get the same.

It is sad, but at least they're trying. I think it's a pretty proactive thing to do to get customer feedback about what you can do to improve your product (the product being the whole gameday experience not just the team on the field). He probably should have stopped short of "I see you have an open date..." and just asked if there was anything they could do to get him to come back to another Memphis game.

visiting fans about their gameday experience, I would encourage it. But the rest of it reeked of desperation.</p>

They're still a notch above the rest of CUSA in basketball, but the farther away from the Cal era, the worse they well be.

I got the call. I gave them credit for trying. They are doing what they can with what they have.

That said, they should consider dropping football down a division.

because it's crxxms redux. An utterly incompetent buffoon is allegedly in charge of their program and there is only one inevitable solution. Who will rise up and ninja Porter's ***?

And for all you who are going to be married one day remember this one, "when things look blink and like they are not going to work out, it's cheaper to keep her".</p>

It started out pretty okay. Just asking if I enjoyed the game, the facilities, etc. but then she asked me when I came. I told her on September 1st. She said "oh, you must be a Mississippi fan". all down hill from there.
