Is it going to be like this every year? When state has success and a coaching job opens up everyone freaks out. lets sign Mullen to a 3-year 2.5 million deal and pray to god he doesn't go Weis on us.</p>

Just product of a good season, but I agree, lets pay the man and not have to worry about it.

Some of you guys are unreal. This is a sign that things are going well. If we lose him, I have faith that we will find someone great to replace him. Templeton is not running the show any more. You guys have to see that with everything going on, right?

I don't want him to leave but don't think it is the end of the world if he goes. All this being said, we should pay him good money and if it is not enough, tough, we will survive and be in a better position than we were previously in.

It was the same early on with Sherrill. Tampa Bay rumors, Alabama, I think even a Texas A&M rumor came up at one point. Not to say that Mullen is going to stick around that long, but it comes with success.

At least now, we have an administration that is not scared of change and knows how athletics in the modern era work.

You know, the one's where Crxxm's name was never once mentioned in connection with any other job. Other than MSU and UM message boards, is Mullen's name even really being mentioned for any other jobs right now? But even if he does leave (now or in the future), he'd leave us in a lot better shape than he found us. Hell, the worst case scenario if he did leave would be we promote Diaz to head coach and hirea good offensive coordinator. That wouldn't exactly be a disaster for us. So relax, enjoy winning, and get used to it. Cause this is not your father's old tired MSU football program.

and while I do believe we have the leadership in place now to hopefully get another good coach don't kid yourself and think we would have a good chance of getting someone equivalent to Mullen. In my estimation right now I see Mullen likely ending up being the best coach we have ever had in the history of the school if he stays. Guys who are able to take a program that has been on hard times like ours and then win this quickly while firing up the fan base to the level he has don't grow on trees. There is NO guarantee that Diaz or anyone else on our current staff or even somebody we might bring in would be anywhere near the level of HEAD COACH that Mullen has proven to be. Heck, when we hired him, we had no idea even Mullen would be anywhere this good at managing an overall program. Big step from being a coordinator to being responsible for every aspect of the program.
