I did not see the game but I have a observation.

I see where Baily and Beckham played like 10 minutes and contributed 4 turnovers between them. Those same two have been doing that all season in limited minutes. There is no excuse for an inside guy who barely handles the ball to turn it over as much as Baily does. Beckham has played with his head completely up his arse since SEC play started. I know he is a freshman but he has some seriously bad playground habits (ie palming the ball, lazy one handed passes, etc.). They are killing us coming off the bench.

with a young team. Constant transfers cause little experienced depth....

I think the bigger problem is how we got manhandled inside. I've been saying for awhile and I havent changed even when most of you were saying "we're winning big why change?"- Osby needs to be on the floor starting and playing 25 mins or more a game. Against well-coached teams that have as much or more talent than us, our 4-guard crap we throw out there is going to get abused...

But that may be the exception not the rule against the bigger teams.

Stop bitching just to *****. Barely a week ago, you were saying you liked our new offense. Here's the thread: http://sixpackspeak.yuku.com?topic=18608 .
There'll be some teams we match up well with playing 4 guards and others not so much, but you can't throw a whole different offensive philosophy out there every night. We can make some small adjustments, but you have to pick your style of play and go with it in order for it do develop into the best that it can be.

And here's another thread with you praising the new offense and defense: http://sixpackspeak.yuku....reply/131245#reply-131245 . So please don't praise something one week and bash it the next.... Midol may help your mood changes.

a gary ervin retread. i've only seen him play a couple of times, but seems to be trying to do too much.
i hope he can settle down and turn into the player he looks like he can become.

I agree. There is a serious lack of size in our lineup as it is. I say Barry should not start just because he airballed a free throw last night, but I really think it should be Phil. Osby for Phil in the starting line up. Adds size and the guy can seriously play.

I like the new offense and still do. But sometimes you have to adjust to certain teams- this is one example. LSU has the athletes to defend us, but we cant match up with them defensively with a 4 guard line-up...inserting Osby against them would be a good adjustment...

Osby has the skills to hit the outside jumper. You dont have to change the way we run our offense for him- but he damn sure would help defend and rebound on the defensive end

We'll have to try and make some adjustments, but we may be damned if we do, damned if we don't against them. Osby seems to be used to help solidify the post when Varnado needs a breather. If they are both in there at the same time and both wind up needing a rest at the same time, inserting Bailey and Turner into the post probably wouldn't be too solid.

I do know that if Stans had wound up starting Osby and then had lost, people would be crying because we went away from something that was working.

I really don't see what the big deal is with not starting Osby. When has Stans always started his "best" five? He's always started the 5 that he thought played best together. There've been multiple years when our sixth man was one of our best five and didn't start.

not sure who he is, but every time jack said his name, it seemed like he was turning the ball over.

i think he's making true freshman mistakes and trying to do too much - trying to play too fast. the game will slow down for him next year, and i expect he'll settle down and improve.

How about staggering the rest so they dont have to go out at the same time? Give Osby a breather around 14:00 minute mark...then Jarvis at the 12:00 minute timeout and bring Osby back in...Bailey or Turner would then get to play about 5-6 minutes and let them both get some rest...

Also, some of you need to realize that by also having Osby inside will help Jarvis stay out of foul trouble due to having another big body inside
