I do not understand why we cannot buy more priority tickets prior to reseating..

Isn't that the perfect time to do it? I have 4 in section C, and now have another child that is old enough to go to the games. I need another seat with my existing 4. But now, according to the reseating notice, we only get to buy as many as we had last year. So what good does it do to pick my 4 seats, then have to move because I need 5 together?

I'm in the same situation and need to add 2 additional seats to my 4. If I can't get enough seats together to bring my kids to the games I will probably just get out of the Bulldog Club and buy tickets to a couple games a year through StubHub

I don't understand either. They may have their reasons but seems to me to be the perfect opportunity for those in need of adding a seat or two. I only get 2 tickets but 2 immediate family members have asked me to get 2 more so we can enjoy the games together.

edited to add: They don't get season tickets. They just occasionally take mine and buy single game tickets.

I really don't get this either. I hope someone wakes up and realizes this is a mistake.

The wife's theory is that they're trying to dissuade people from grouping accounts and jumping up in ranking right now. For anyone who has already been purchasing tickets even though they could only get them in separate areas, their commitment is rewarded.

Where are y'all seeing this? I looked thru the BC website and didn't see anything that said you couldn't add additional seats.

I hope this is wrong, or they'll reconsider.

I've been trying to add one seat (new child) for two years. First year I bought individual games from friends. Last year, BC never returned my call about adding one. In fact, two years ago I was told not to worry about it because we would reseat soon.

If this is truly the case, I will make the difficult decision to stop buying season tickets and reduce my BC donation to minimum amount. This is difficult for me only, as the BC and MSU sports obviously won't miss a beat.

it's hard to be upset about it, as it's a sign the teams I care about are moving forward. I hope we are able to fill the stadium at prices I can't afford. As others have stated, I'll be at the tailgate.

I could see this coming a mile away... I added a 4th seat last year eventhough it was nowhere near my 3 I currently had. I'll get all 4 together next year.

They are trying to keep someone with a high point total from buying a block of tickets for family and friends who don't have the points for a particular section. I see their reasoning for this but it is really unfair to people who need to add one or two tickets for children. I feel like that after the reseating, if you have a request for additional seats, you will be able to add them. You probably will have to move to have all of them together and when you move you will open your previous seats for someone else needing to add additional seats and so on and so on. I originally had four seats but now only buy two. I still give the donation for four and my dog tag reflects that I buy four every year, I wonder if I could buy four this year? BMT was smart to add tickets last year

They could keep folks from taking over all the tickets by limiting the number of additional tickets you can purchase or by setting a max number you can purchase in total (existing and new combined) based on your annual or lifetime giving. I can understand that we don't want a bunch of folks buying blocks of 20-30 tickets to allow unlimited piggybacking on the priority rankings of high donors, but there are ways to limit this while also accommodating those who need it. I'm thankfully not impacted, but I would be very disappointed if I was a season ticket holder and had young children, a new son or daughter in law, or grandchildren that I now wanted to sit with us.

It says you can request more and they will consider it. I would call and ask and see what they say

Who are you going to buy them from? Someone would have to give up the seat before you could buy them. If you're wanting the seats next to you then you would have to bump whoever owns them now. Right?

exactly

This happened at the hump a few years ago when they first did the reseating. All the "regulars" got bumped from their seats and the higher ups in the bdc bought as many tickets as they were allotted regardless of whether or not they would use them. It sucks for those that need more but I see their reasoning.

Nobody has assigned seats at this time. You are not guaranteed your old seats unless they are still available when it's your time to pick. We will be assigned a time to pick seats base on your points total and will be able to choose from the available seats in your chosen giving level. Unless you are club level, you aren't even guaranteed a section yet. If you want to add one or two tickets when your time comes, they aren't going to tell you no, if you are currently buying two and want to add six, that's probably not going to happen. There will be some resent season ticket purchasers who will be able to greatly improve their seating location and there will be some people who have been buying for years who are going to be pissed. They really should reseat the stadium every 8-10 years, it would keep people from becoming cheapskates once the get a seating location they like!

Right, but he wants to buy them NOW, before reseating. People still have seniority in the BDC so if he was allowed to buy them now, then he could be taking them from someone of higher BDC ranking. Once it's his turn to buy his new seats then by all means, he should be able to buy as many tickets as his giving level allows but not until its his turn to pick.
