It cause mitch has a HOF coach gift wrapped for him and he refused to make the hire! Changes must be made!!
That pretty much sums it up for me. How stupid do you have to be? A good 80% of the fan base was begging for Petrino. Where are the guys that were calling out fans for wanting Petrino in Stoops first year at today? There is more to it than recruiting.
80 percent?? Hell it wasn't even close to that high on this board. I continually got roasted on here for wanting Petrino. I'd say it was maybe 30 percent on this board.

I dunno. It was pretty bad during Joker's last year. I think the fact that UL is so good right now and we are so bad might be why.

I think it was more than 30, but you're right, it wasn't 80. Still shocked at the number of UK fans that act like they wouldn't have gladly had him as our coach after he came in here and did what he's done at UL.
Mitch has whiffed at every turn, BB program ok the second time around due to pressure even though he did not want to make this hire. Hired Billy G, hired Joker, Hired Mark Stoops, hired a BB coach in women's that the program is in shambles, Peevey is pretty much Cal's AD so Mitch in my mind has the rest and they are not very good.
Jurich has made one bad hire, Kragthorpe, all are great, women's, mens BB, their BB coach is considered top 3 in country, FB is a NC contender this year and next.
All one common denominator, Mitch Barnhart.
SEC is printing money, all the Olympic sports should be good, resources are great. No excuses except you don't have the requisite skills to hire a great coach. It is unmistakable in the term of Mitch, he has been awful in reality.

Mitch wont hire Cal because he thinks Cal is crooked, hires Gillispie, Gillispie embarrasses program in a way no one has since 1988, hires Joker, hires Stoops, and this turkey is still our AD?

Weren't most UK fans completely against hiring Petrino at the time? It appears most still stand behind that. Just like a majority of fans are completely against the idea of hiring Art Briles. That is golden opportunity staring you in the face and there will be a program out there that will benefit from his transgression.
