but I was just curious if Spirit or Nafoom has a 6 page thread on why Kennedy should be fired the day after losing to Arkansas at home?

Don't get me wrong Stansbury is by no means perfect, and I even do see the reason for frustration from many of the anti-Stansbury crowd. I just don't see why the anti-Stansbury and overly pro-Stansbury crowd have to get so worked up to have such heated discussions. Its even more comical when you see them wanting to fire Stans at halftime of these games.

Kennedy should watch some MSU film to learn how to run inbounds plays. I am a Stansbury fan, but even I see the comedy in that.

I don't know how. Basic box set, inbound to the guy on the block and the other guy on the block runs in between the players on the elbow who then come together to forma double screen.

the other one is a basic screen for the screener who initially screens usually for augustus who then tries to seal underneath.

Those are the only 2 I can remember seeing.

We generally perform well after a timeout and get good looks on inbounds plays. I wish some of that would translate to our half court offense though.

We actually have always done a good job running inbounds plays under Stans.

I can't think of many where we get the ball in to an open jump shooter or to someone beneath the bucket. We make feeble attempts, but 9 times out of 10 it's a heave deep to just get it in before the 5 count. I've got plenty of complaints about our basketball team. I just can't figure out how many of them are the fault of the players and how many of them are the fault of the coaches.

He's rapidly approaching the point where all the players are his players, so whether it's the fault of the players or the coaches doesn't matter. Either way, it's still his fault.

Why does it take 6 pages of discussion on every single day for the Anti-Stans crowd to tell everyone else Pro and neutral Stansbury people how bad he sucks? Why do you guys feel the need to inform everyone else that he should be gone at halftime of some games? Its like you people really don't feel like you're being heard.

I find it comical is all. Some of you guys would ***** if we had John Wooden.

True, and to be honest, this team has been his players since last season. Of course last season, he lost a lot of his players to injury, so he got a pass on that one.

Yes it all goes back to him at this point, but my point was I don't know if the issues we have are "coaching" issues or personnel issues. Both fall on the head coach, but the solutions aren't quite the same.

For instance, I know Bianco's issues with getting over the hump are coaching issues, because we've had so many different personnel groupings that all led to the same result regardless of what they had for strengths/weaknesses.

With Kennedy, he's still fairly young in his tenure, at least with this being the first year where he's had his own players and had enough experience to evaluate him. If he sticks around another 5 years, he'll have different personnel groupings, and if the same problems persist despite the personnel changes, we'll know the issues are primarily coaching or style issues not personnel issues.

we throw the ball over the mid court line LESS than ANY team in the SEC. We have solid inbounds plays that almost always lead to getting the ball in a position to run a play and not just throwing back across the line and walking it up.

We do need some new ones though as even I can tell what the play is based on how we line up now...

but it isn't a strong point.

At no point in a basketball game should there be a timeout called and the subsequent inbound play not be a set play to get an open look. Maybe it won't work, but after each timeout a set play should be ran.
Its a timeout. Draw the sum of a beach up on the dry erase board and say.....kodi do this. Jarvis do that. Dee throw it here.......get my point.

It should happen every time.

and b/c of 2 other reasons: 1. Some of us would like to actually discuss substantive stuff and not yell for firings at the first clang of the rim so it takes a few threads to sort all that out and 2. You have people who support everything Rick does that they start threads themselves.

You don't see as many threads about Kennedy because instead of not being able to coach, he can coach a little bit. Not that good but a little bit.

never understood why people think this, either. While we may not score EVERY inbounds, we usually have a decent play set up. Hell whenever we have an inside presence that weighs more than 180lbs, we usually score. It really is no surprise that ther person saying we suck on them is the same person that said we sucked at rebounding the year we were (at worst) top 3 in the league.

if they play for coach kennedy, all of them are the players' fault and none are the coach's fault.

if they play for stansbury, none of them are the players' fault and all of them are the coach's fault.

If you don't believe me, just ask our resident expert on....well....everything.

If you watched the Rebel/Dogs game you wouldve seen yall score at least 4, maybe more, EASY baskets off of set inbounds plays. I havent watched much of yall since so maybe it was isolated to that game, but I dont see how. Clearly having Varnado in that situation helps, but other teams run set plays off of inbounds as well.

We throw it midcourt over 90% of the time and never get a good look at the basket when we dont.

and don't recall that. I'm not saying I paid that much attention to the inbounds, but over the years, they haven't been that special.

where we ran the same inbounds play about 5 times and got an easy layup each time. It was so bad that people were noticing (b/c people usually don't notice inbounds plays). maybe its what we're running now, but it was a play that created a seal underneath
