He's supposed to be really good right? Has anyone heard anything about him?

Considering he was one of the nations best DL prospects coming out of High School i figured that was wrong. Plus i think he came up on here before, i was just wondering if anyone heard anything new.

My point was he is a Freshman and if you hadn't heard anything about him, then more than likely he's not transitioning to D1 football very well and more than likely will redshirt and you won't hear anything about him until at least next year, maybe 2 years. When Freshmen are transitioning well to D1, then Croom will let you know, like he has done with all the other Freshmen. I honestly haven't heard Croom say one thing about Hardy, which means he won't see the field this year unless something goes bad wrong.

If he is redshirted he must really be having a hard time considering how good he was and how according to Croom we are "thin" on the DL.

You can go ahead and discount what I'm about to say, because I'm a reb fan.

Templeton Hardy was hyped pretty well. He played at North Panola, which isn't known for tough competition or developing players. He is big and he did well against smaller players. He didn't even get AllState in MS. It has always been stated that he may be moved to OL. The move isn't a surprise.

Swindoll hyped him pretty well. He may live up to the billing at some point, but he need to develop.

i didn't hype him up any more than the rest of the country did...considering who all he was offered by and how many offers he had, you would have thought if any freshman was going to play early it would have been him.

Hardy is supposedly out of shape and lacking a mean streak, it will be a while before he contributes.

Hardy will likely end up a good offensive lineman but he very simply didn't have all the offers he claimed. North Panola/Hardy fabrications. Ask SP coaches about him and you'll get a big grin. He's fine...will probably be fine....but way overhyped with that star rating of his.

Cause Pete Carroll hangs on the Swan's every evaluation before offering . . . .

He may end up being a terrible football player, but don't act like he wasn't a highly sought after recruit by everyone in the nation except UM, who saw thru the hype. For pete's sake, his Freshman year hasn't even kicked off yet.

At least North Panola can get their kids eligible for college. South Panola must have not only stupid players, but stupid coaches for not getting their guys academically prepared to play D-1 football.

Actually, it has been talked about that he would NEVER play DL on the college level, hell, since his commitment to MSU.

He was ALWAYS going to be an OL. He doesn't have it at DT.

I'm not sure it HAS to be repeated again, but he simply didn't have the written offers that he claimed.

He has several verbal, but very few written.

I had typed that very same statement about the written offers vs. the verbal offers in my initial post, but I deleted it before posting because I knew it could start a pissing match.

I'm not taking anything away from Hardy as a D1 player (because he is) by saying that Gene promoted him. Anyone who doesn't believe this happened needs to go read all the scout articles about him from the beginning. He updated the kid everytime his headcoached scratched his ***.

Gene did the same thing with Chaz Ramsey (until the AU commitment) , Chris Garrett (until the LSU commitment) and Lee Chambers (until the Miami switch). In those cases, the extra attention may have backfired.

When either Gene or Yancy think a player is going to commit to their school, the hype machine starts churning.
