That's what it should be but the majority of fans only care about football. Some would probably give up a national championship in WBB for a Liberty Bowl invite.
You are not far off ✋For an 8-4 football record this past year instead of 4-8, I’d give up BOTH WBB titles. For me, WBB is akin to our equestrian team . . . an after thought with no real significance. Like ping-pong.

I for one, would give up the entire existence of WBB for a single win over Clemson in football. Perhaps even just a single win over any school in football.

Jmo based on interest levels of the sports.

Personally, I prefer table tennis to WBB. I find it much more enjoyable.
Some ping pong coaches could dress as horribly as Kim Mulkey to keep it controversial.

I don't really see a downside. He's won 72% of his career games. Is there any other coach we could reasonably hire who has won at that level? Him being out of the game, I think, could work in our favor from the cost perspective. We could probably pick him up dirt cheap.

Maybe he doesn't want to coach again. I guess he's getting some kind of payments from WSU. Could be he's happy to ride things out in Charleston, getting paid for doing nothing. Or maybe he wants a shot at redemption.

Worst case scenario, we give it 2-3 years and it doesn't seem to be working and we're right back where we are right now.
Gregg Marshall downside is abundant. The guy hasn’t coached a game since 2020, maybe 2019. The landscape has drastically changed in that time with how recruiting works. He’s 62 years old which begs the question if he’ll want to spent 120 hours per week working. Furthermore, he wasn’t accused of simply berating players. There were allegations of physical abuse as well. He was also accused of making racially insensitive comments. I mean it’s not like one claim was made—there were several and a few corroborated by other players and staff members. What parent is going to send their kid to play for that kind of guy? Who’s going to work for a guy that was accused of choking an assistant coach? Punching a player?

Marshall’s not the guy. There’s a reason he hasn’t hit a job after Marshall. There are a lot of successful mid major coaches. You hope your AD is blessed with discernment and hires the right guy.Dusty May at Michigan and Todd Golden at Florida are the type of mid major you can find.
