I don't remember Rondo being very good at Kentucky.

I hate Kentucky and I hate the Celtics but I have to hand to Rondo, he has turned out to be a fantastic point guard. However, I can't seem to recall him being that outstanding at UK and thought the Celtics were nuts to draft him at the time. He still can't shoot but he is making a case for playoff MVP with his play.

He was the best player on the floor at UK, but never wanted to listen to his coaches. He was also condescending to his teammates, and none of them liked him.

He just proves that you don't have to be able to shoot to be a point guard. If you take care of the basketball, create, and play good defense, you can be a good point guard.

Plus it helps you when you get to feed Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

thought not to be what the Celts needed at point. Then they went out an drafted sg j.r. giddens (who?) instead of the point guard from Kansas so i guess they believed in him.

why has Zimmerman never gotten a shot in the league?

although I never thought he would turn into what he is now. I know Zimmerman played in the d-league. Didn't he win some awards in the d-league?

I think most of the time, guys are just in the right place at the right time. Rondo and Zimmerman definitely have some similarities. The only thing I recall about Rondo in college was that Stansbury would leave him wide open at the three point line because we knew he couldn't knock it down.....much like Zimmerman I'm afraid.

as bad of a shooter as he was, I always thought he was a better shooter than Rondo and he is bigger.

I remember Rhondo being very good at Kentucky. I do remember he set the SEC single season record for steals, I think it came against us. He shattered the record if I'm not mistaken.

It is a good comparison, because they play similar styles. But I do think that Rondo is a good bit quicker than Z with the ball. And Rondo is a better passer too. Z is a natural 2 who was moved to point for us because we absolutely had to have one.
