His response:

"Thanks for writing. We've gotten communication on both sides of the hot dog issue. Yours is the first that thought they were not good. I personally had one of the hot dogs, and to be honest, I thought it was comparable to what we served previously -- same size and make-up as the Bryan hot dog."

WOW

Perhaps more should email him? And how does my complaint serve as the first he has heard when he said they've "gotten communication on both sides of the hot dog issue"?

Complaining is not going to do much for any of you. They are locked into a sponsorship with these guys, so they are not just going to stop selling them

I agree, but he needs to know what the masses are saying. It's going to suck when their hotdog sales fall over 50% because they bought ****** product and no one wants to eat them.

I've always thought Scott was an arrogant prick. If you're going to respond like that, just don't even send a response.

I don't think they'll have a major drop off in hotdog sales because people usually go into the game stuffed, but it might be a big deal come baseball/basketball season.

My 5 year old LOVES hotdogs. I've never seen him not eat one if it is placed in front of him. I bought him one of these and he took one bite and he spit it out (I'm dead serious). He told me it was "nasty" so I took a bite and he was right. Vienna sausage...it was cold, too.

I don't see anything arrogant about his response at all. Maybe the hotdogs ARE similar to him.

I haven't tasted either hotdog, but my suspicions are that folks are just whining because that's what they do - whine. No matter what Scott Stricklin or anyone else does, there will always be - and has always been - that certain segment that whines and complains.

Just the way it is.

What? I don't understand. If what he's saying is truthful, how else could he say it? If he's lying, well...

compared to other ADs, scott is the furthest thing from an arrogant prick. i find it hard to believe that you have ever even spent any time around him.

You'd think the people's voice would matter at The People's University (TM). We emailed Ross Bjork and asked him to visit our tent, and he did. I had a hot dog at the Vaught and it was fine. Even if it weren't, I can't imagine contacting the administration about a hot dog, but if I did and even got a reply, I'd probably not consider the guy an "arrogant prick." An arrogant prick would just delete your silly complaint.

Bragging about contacting "Scott" like he's your BFF comes off a little arrogant.

ETA: I realize Behr wasn't the one who called "Scott" "arrogant." My reply was to both.

Agree. I saw Scott walking around the Junction introducing himself and shaking hands with people. Looked friendly and polite to me.

The fact that you took the time to email the AD over hot dogs says more than anything.

I have met him, actually. He's good about getting face time with people and then if you actually voice a concern to him he has the same exact reaction every time.

He gives you some story about how he understands you, but you're wrong every single time.

But people like you defend him because he gets on twitter and says "we're updating the font for the score updates because we got some feedback"... And everything is right with the world after that.

People, this is a ridiculous thread because no one is going to stop selling hotdogs because you say they are bad. Just as McDonalds isn't going to stop selling hamburgers if you think they are greasy and fattening. If you don't like the the hotdogs, then don't buy them. That is truly the only way for the hotdog problem to be fixed. If Carolina Pride isn't selling enough hotdogs to justify their sponsorship, then you know what? They will pull out of the sponsorship and stop selling hotdogs at our games. If everybody stopped eating McDonalds hamburgers then you know what? they would go out of business or change the dang recipe. Unlike the video board, parking, road closures, music, offense, defense, kicker, QB, etc..... this is the one thing that the fans have complete control over. Just don't buy the damn things if you don't like them. However, if they continue to sell a lot of hotdogs, then you will know that your taste isn't shared by all because they will be selling enough hotdogs to justify the sponsorship. Either way this issue is completely controlled by the fans and has nothing to do with the AD.

You two are huge pussies

I have never understood why people email presidents, GMs, managers, or AD's about petty things like this. Seriously? You and your kid didn't like a hot dog so you emailed the athletic director? Heres what you should do... Buy some land, put up some buildings with classrooms, hire professors, recruit students, start an athletic program, and serve the hot dogs that you and your kid like at the games.

And to the other *** hat that said his response was arrogant... Please tell me you are joking. Please.

If I were an AD I would have told you and your kid to stay home and eat whatever you wanted and dont come to the games anymore to spare me the time to read about what you thought of a hot dog on opening day. Try this next time... Don't buy one!! It's a free market, if everyone is like you and doesn't buy hot dogs anymore, then sales drop and they will be forced to make a change.

What will suck about it? If they fall below 50% then they will pull out of the sponsorship and people will get what they want; better hotdogs. If they sell a lot of hotdogs then that means people must like them or are stupid because they continue to spend disposable income on something they don't like.

How could anyone say that this administration doesn't listen to the fan base after so much has changed over the last 5 years? I can't believe Stricklin responds as much as he does. Btw I ate a hot dog and wasnt as good as the Bryan dogs, but I didn't think it was nasty.

Nathans off a grill is the best dog.... But it's still just a hot dog, salt, fat, and some other unknown ingredients.

Noddy, of course Bjork came to your tent, and it was probably during the game. Isn't that the popular place to be during an OM game?

Also, your stadium should have good hotdogs and everything else, bc they have to have something to draw people in there. A 20-14 halftime deficit to Central Ark probably doesn't entice many to pack the Vaught.

Wow. I've never seen anything from him that would lead me to feel that way. At least he responded to something that may seem trivial to many ADs. That's worth a lot in my book.

Here's the best way to let "Scott" know what the "masses" are thinking.

Tweet "These hotdogs are total ****, and the cups smell like my grandmother's church breath! #hailstate." I bet the endzone made that very easy for everyone. #aheadofthecurve

I would imagine he has had people say they liked Bryan better than Carolina Pride but maybe his email was the first to say his hotdog tasted like ****. Having eaten Carolina Pride at home, they are not as good as Bryan but they aren't terrible. It sounds to me like the biggest problem is the cooking. Every 17ing hotdog sucks if it is boiled or steamed and left sitting in the juices. **** gets cold and softer just like a nasty *** vienna sausage.

Maybe all they need to do is get their **** straight in the concession areas and do the hotdogs right.

Emailing the AD about the hot dogs is the biggest waist of both your time and bandwidth possible.

The athletic program would be much more improved for all our benefit if you would use that same amount of time, brain power, and bandwidth to go online and make even a $1 contribution to the Bulldog Club.

I myself, now find that I am dumber for reading your post and wasting further bandwidth on the subject of hot dogs. But who really gives a **** about something like that? It is a football game that brings you there, not a freaking hot dog for a couple of bucks at a damn athletic event vendor stand run but a bunch of volunteers.

Sorry if I am being an ******* but the whole subject of this is pointless in my opinion. And again I cannot believe I am ranting on about this subject. Sorry.... carryon!

Hmmm, I think he's just the opposite. He actually stopped by

Our tent Saturday before the game. He shook my hand and introduced himself and was very polite. He is by far the most accessible AD we've had in my adult lifetime and is a good dude. Can't imagine anyone saying he's arrogant. Just don't see it.

I have emailed about issues over the past few years and have never received an answer where I felt like he was being a prick. I emailed him because of an issue that several out of our group had with getting bags into the stadium (we all have small/young children). Answered my concerns and forwarded the email to the man in charge of the events group.

Its not that hard to figure that out. Sales fall, revenue goes down for our athletic department in the concession arena. I can assure you, a $5 hotdog has a very high profit margin for our AD. Its a senseless error to make. Get decent food, sell a **** ton of it, make some money.

biggest waist? is that from eating too many hot dogs?

JAJAJAJA!
