I fold. Crooms > Vaught. I underestimated you guys somehow.

I have been disappointed in this whole "tour" they have done. And I am sure that race had nothing to do with the Croom choice as greatest coach.

i'd like to see the guy who said this. amazing.
I think he may have played elsewhere in the pros too, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. Led Tulane to an undefeated season. He's ridiculously smart, obviously.

I just can't understand even considering saying something like that.

For that matter, I think it's debatable whether you could even put him in the Top 5 in the state if you only look at the 6 most recent coaches at the major programs in the state (excluding current coaches).

Jeff Bower - 1990-2007
Sylvester Croom - 2004-2008
Jackie Sherrill - 1991-2003
Ed Orgeron - 2005-2007
David Cutcliffe - 1999-2004
Tommy Tuberville - 1995-1998

At best, you might be able to put him ahead of Orgeron to squeeze him into the Top 5 out of the last 6, but even that's up for debate.

Of those 21 coaches, Croom ranks 17 in winning percentage (.356).

Both Croom and Rocky Felker (no disrepect intended just a comparasion) won 21 games in 5 years. Felker coached in 4 less games.
