that last weeks loss did more for MSU football than anything Croom ever did.
It doesn't have anything to do with LSU being overrated or their actual ranking. The fact of the matter is LSU is supposed to have a superior team to MSU in football. While they are down, they were still supposed to have a somewhat comfortable victory. We did not allow that. I think people that look at the highlights see MSU playing lights out and they see the midget that we have at QB and they think "Man, they are playing like this- with THAT?" What's going to happen when they get a QB?
Furthermore, we played with intensity, we played hard, and for once we did not look like "good ol' MSU" and play scared against LSU.
The importance of the GT game is this- we must continue to show improvement. One thing we lacked under Sherrill was consistency- ie playing well enough to shut out Auburn on the road and yet lose to Georgia 47-0. I think that beating them and playing well again will bode well for us in the future. Under Croom it was more about Croom's skin color and his "good guy" reputation at "good ol' MSU". I don't think those two are necessarily bad things by themselves, but the fact of the matter is the name of the game is winning. I would be willing to bet than even some that know Lane Kiffen would describe him as a "good guy" after all.
