at what point as an adult do you not talk **** to a former player.

Tyler Russell tweets "Don't count me out just yet". Then some guy on Twitter who is an Ole Miss fan tweets back to him saying "said the guy playing football in front of a port a jon #grinding".

This is a guy who publicly states that he spends his life at the Country Club of Jackson so I imagine he's a great person to be around.

There are some truly miserable people in this world. The OM fanbase certainly contains much more than their fair share.

His phone is probably the only thing that interacts with him. It's a shame people like this exist. If you have a problem with TR, I can assure that you are the only one. Tyler is one of the best people you will ever meet.

I have a bigger prob with the peope that like/follow their rival

What the hell is wrong with those people? The ones that always leave a barb about MSU football on FB or this guy following TR on twitter. WHY? Do you just love to be an ******* that much? I do not care to ever see a TSUN story so why would I 'like' TSUN football on facebook?

That is some deep mental illness there.

THIS.

I don't follow a single person associated with ole miss athletics. The only time I see that crap is when ole miss friends retweet it. It's kind of sad, really if people do that State fan of Ole Miss fan.

I'm just sayin, let the fanbase without twitter morons cast the first stone...

You seriously suggesting that OM is unique here? I vaguely remember someone here **** talking their AD a couple months ago. Texas fans will talk **** to OU players/alums, Michigan State fans to Michigan, etc.

Like, nobody here may follow OM and talk **** on twitter, but there are some posters over on ED happy to pick up the slack there. I'm all for looking for an excuse to talk **** about rivals, but OM has no monopoly on this brand of idiocy. Again, what exactly about the comment was even all that "derogatory"? It was generic **** talking of low quality. Shrug.

I guess it was the fact it was presumably a grown adult that just out of the blue said hey - let me talk **** to him. And you really think that wasn't derogatory? I don't deny it was low quality but it was derogatory.

And I don't deny there are State fans that do the same.

It's not that it was derogatory

It was a grown man talking **** to some guy he doesn't know who is barely out of college. Just because other schools have the same idiots doesn't make it ok.

I follow PodKatt as well as some of the guys who do the SBNation site for TAMU. I highly recommend. For every TAMU women's soccer score update there's usually a pretty good back and forth or a funny .gif.

I get what you mean though.

Trash talking (or whatever you want to call it) is for immature adolescents. I'll never understand people who think that kind of thing makes sports more enjoyable.

I follow a few Ole Miss people as well. I don't see anything wrong with it but to interact as a grown adult with a player who graduated a year ago just to talk **** for no reason made me want to call him out.

It's just another flaming example of that fanbase being a charming douche and asshat. The fact that it is unrecongnizable to them is the mental health concern. To be that big of a prick on purpose....and they wonder why we stereotype the majority of their fanbase. It's because of the vast number of them act like that or attempt to defend or brush it off as no big deal.

I normally don't care but I favorited Tyler's comment last night b/c I really like the guy and then I saw that guy in the replies this morning. I guess you and I will just disagree.

How can someone

have a problem with TR? He's probably one of the most down-to-earth, genuine person out there. The guy never got into trouble and graduated from college. He really is a model citizen.

Buuuut...this was coming from a dude that goes by "ccjrebel" so it should not be a surprise, I guess. The clown obviously thinks very highly of himself.

And at least create an alias that would be hard to trace back to you if you plan on being a complete dipshit. But as you know the problem is cyclical. If you're a dipshit, you don't know you're being a dipshit.

You are really drifting from the point of the argument. Now, you are debating whether or not a comment is tacky enough? ALL of it is loser. And YES, all of it takes place at all schools. That does not mean that it is a really lame act for an adult. NEVER did anyone single out Ole Miss other than for an example of what they don't follow.

And, you cite the AD story. That was not a story. The story was that someone made a comment about Ole Miss that their AD went above and beyond to find and then challenge the person to a fight. No one trolled the AD. The story was that the AD was on full blast retard that day.

I love love love love trolling the morons on twitter.

No way to prove it, but I swear fans on Twitter have gotten really stupid in the past couple of years. My goodness, I truly feel sorry for some of those people if they are really stupid enough to believe some of the stuff they Tweet.

It doesn't matter if you're not offended by it. If the recipient is, it's best

I'm just not even remotely offended by it. It doesn't register.

Derogatory? Maybe, but who cares?

not to send it. Now if Tyler is posting stuff on twitter he is open to abuse just like anyone is, but the young man is posting a hopeful comment about his future with a positive attitude. For a grown man to take a swipe at it in a negative manner is ridiculous.

What that idiot typed to Tyler goes beyond general message board poking fun at a fanbase. If you can't see that I'm sorry.

It's all about the steady dumbing down of society

These are the same people that used to post under the Clarion Ledger articles in the comments section. You know, the ones that we used to make fun of because they needed to be "gathered and studied". They have moved on to facebook and twitter now.

If facebook and twitter have done anything positive for us, it has given stupid people (70% of America) a platform to share their stupidness with society. And this is a positive because it gives me something to consistently laugh at.

Unfortunately I think you're being generous with the 70%. Probably higher.

I used to laugh at it, but had to quit social media because its gotten more depressing as more morons have figured out how to work the Twitters. Some of the worst offenders are public officials and people you would think would be worried about their reputation.

the 30-55 female segment of the bears fan base blows my mind on twitter

I had to follow one of them one day just to see what their twitter was like. Thats strange/scary stuff.

This lady retweets pretty much everything positive OM people say, argues with anything negative said about OM, runs smack about recruiting and talks trash to state fans all day long.

I'd think that was odd twitter account for even the most fanatical guy...but the 40 year old women just baffle me.

You have people signing up on twitter pretending to be Ole Miss fans and tweeting at recruits racist ********, all in the hope of swaying recruits away from OM.

As far as Tyler Russell, I really hope he gets a shot in the pros,he seems like a great kid that was put in maybe the worst offense for his skillset. I'm really think he would have gotten drafted if he had played for Saban or Spurrier where they don't rely on a mobile QB.

samesies.

I have never understood trash talking because it just sets you up to look like a stupid tool when what you say is going to happen doesn't happen. Trash talking on the field/court/arena is dumb, but at least its between those who are actually playing. Trash talking by fans to other fans is just a whole other level of stupid. That crap is painful to listen to because the dbags cant even affect the outcome.

I never said he wasn't a loser, and I never said that it wasn't lame, I just think that it (someone being a douchebag on the internet) happens so often that it's not noteworthy.
