With Case Keenum, Sumlin has a 8,10 and 12 win season. With out him he has a 5 win season. His success was built around one guy and one guy only. I'm calling it now today. Two years and that's it.

you will be surprised.

I think he is underrated as a coach and his recruiting is always really good.
He has some great connections in Texas.

If wrong I will post I was wrong. His team was good because of a goodQB and a weak conference.</p>

against Southern Miss.It was comparable to Memphis. I've never seen anything like it. And remember, we played them last year and could've named our score. I'm more of a defensive guy, so when I see a crappy defense I automatically think a team is soft and is a reflection on the head guy.

but if they only plan to give him two years, that could be a diaster

I don't know anything about aTm, but I would think they don't have a defense ready to compete in the SEC and that will take some time for any coach to develop.
I know Sumlin is a great offensive mind.

and they may call for his head because of unrealistic expectations, but as far as him as a coach I don't offense will be his problem

Yes I agree hiring a top DC could make or break him
(before the year starts he already has 3 loses) ...hope aTm can wrap their head around that.

I don't pretend to know much about Sumlin's skills, but the fact is most ADs have the IBM syndrome. Sumlin is likely a product of a great player and an AD who knows he will catch not **** for the hire.

The SEC is full of physical defenses. This year, the only time Houston played against an aggressive defense that got after them on the line, you see the result. The offense also asserted its will. The pinball offense won't work in the SEC, and especially at aTm. USM physically beat Houston in all phases. It was a train wreck for Sumlin. Good luck in the SEC, hoss. That ain't C-USA.
