Not on the team or coaches. I'll always support them. But I'm sick of all the negative nancys on this board who can't wait to ***** and moan after a loss. Get over yourselves. I can't be part of this negativity.

Go Big Red.

I agree. Tommy is going to be ripped to pieces but yet he made some big plays. Our running backs averaged over five yards a carry but once again they will get destroyed on here. Our defensive backs are going to shredded by these so-called "fans".

You'll probably see it for the rest of the season because at this point we'll be lucky to win another game..

I would love to have a positive outlook. But how can you have one after what we have seen? Give me something to go on. Anything at this point!

Run d is much improved, think we allowed them 539 yds rushing last year

It's hard to say positive things when we've found ways to lose 4 winnable games. I guess I like what I've seen from some of the young players, like Newby, Weber, and Morgan. On to the next game, I suppose.

But they had Gordon and a much more experienced OL then. I think our tackling is a bit better. But we're getting shredded with our horrible DB's who just seem to be confused sometimes out there.

I just don't see anyway this staff leads us to being "back" to where we should be. I think we will eventually win 9 games under them but there is quite a bit of holes for a staff that is "experienced." I really want Riley to succeed but it just doesn't look good.

That, and not a whole lot of pressure to make a difference in the pass game. Stave wasn't great, but there were some drops and some nice breakups by the db's. Just not enough big plays on offense or turnovers on defense to get the win.

My bad they had 581 yds last year rushing and 59 pts

Nobody cares we still loss but last year we beat Illinois.

Your post is childish..Bo doesn't coach here anymore.

This coaching staff is a joke and so are posters who keep comparing him to Bo.

Bo can laugh at Riley right now, think about that.

Better you could have ran for 350 in the game last year against us. Yes our DB's need to look for the ball better or put the freshman studs in there.

Last year we sucked just as bad. Either way we still lost today and that's number 4 in 6 games. Sorry, if we thought this was going to be a rebuilding project that would take years we hired the wrong guy.

Dumb...that is why you run the ball...to get breakaway's like that. Whoever says, "If you take that pass away..."
Dumb is trying to prop up something that wasn't, a great running day. Only 2 good runs the whole day. Please stop trying to make it better than it was, that's dumb.

I'm kind of the opposite. What people say on a message board doesn't bother me. I'm more bothered by the lousy play of the football team.

Does anybody LIKE being negative? I sure don't. I actually think we have a very decent football team. Poor play calling, game management, and personnel selection isn't being negative, it's just stating the facts. These heart breaking endings are NOT a coincidence.

If you want all roses and rainbows, you are following the wrong sport. Maybe bowling is more your style. I support this program and these players (the ones who want to be here) 100%. It is very hard to be positive with what we are consistently witnessing over and over. For a coaching crew with all the year experience these are rookie coach mistakes and play calls happening over and over. These kids can only do what they are being coached to do.
This comes down to coaching 100%. We could have won these games had we had good coach at the helm. We have the talent to be undefeated. This is not going to get better, these coaches are what they are. Good luck getting any good recruits to come to a losing school, with poor coaches in the middle of the country. If we have any hope at salvaging the program we can't let this be another Billy C type run, maybe worse at this point. Sorry the truth hurts sometimes the sooner we see it and move on the better.

...because of the losses, we really can't defend any of the decision this staff is making.

1. No Oline rotation - up for criticism
2. Hiring a sextegenerian as a coach - up for criticism
3. Bringing a career .500 staff in - up for criticism
4. Langsdorf...sigh, huge disappointment
5. Banker - he is what his record says he is

Bah, never felt this bad in the past 15 years...so hopeless. I waited all spring and summer for this?

I'm afraid you are correct. Riley really is a guy the majority of this fanbase can get behind but I think we hired a coach on the downturn.

Riley is an easy guy to like and pretty much everyone is rooting for him....it's not about being negative, I have no idea what positives a person can see watching this product for six weeks. Again, as nice as Riley is, he is judged by W's and L's, nothing else. Really really really disappointing so far with no end in sight.

There are people in the world that see things positively and those that see things negatively. Your intelligent post suggesting I follow bowling shows me your outlook.

Cry about it all you want. I support the coaching staff based on what I've read from real professionals who say the guy can build young men and knows the game better than most. I never saw comparable professionals say the same about the last coaching staff.

Chico we luv ya' bro, but you have to cut off the Koolaid. I want us to be relevant again too, we all do. Doesn't mean we crucify the staff, but it is what it is. They're not good chess players. Plain and simple. I'll still go to games and pull for NU, but the odds are not in coach's favor.

What are these "professionals" basing their optimism about Riley on? He was terrible in the NFL and got run out after only two years. He never won a conference title. Never went to a BCS bowl and he finished his last 5 years at Oregon State with a record of 29-33. He is now 2-4 at Nebraska. (and we are leading the nation in penalties) WAKE UP. That is not indicative of a good coach.

I can understand a positive outlook, but to attack those with a negative outlook is just as ignorant. The play over the last 5 weeks does deserve some negative attitude, its only human. Now I don't agree with the people blaming the kids or attacking them on twitter and such. These are basically 18-22 yr old kids and in the end it is just football. This staff does however need to be seriously discussed, and the direction we as fans want this program going.
