I guess I'm getting old.

I really don't care about all this crap like I used to. 17 or 18 year old kids are going to make their decisions for either sound reasons, or stupid ones. I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure it out. I guess I'm not a good Bulldog.

In future posts, please type "seventeen" when you are referring to age. I just read that as "F*** or 18 year old kids". **

You may not be a "good Bulldog" but maybe you traded it in by becoming a man. Are you 40.

It's not being old, it's being smart. You've seen it for at least the last 10 years and you've grown to accept the outcome. Sticking your hand in an alligators mouth 9 times and getting bit, then on that 10th time saying, 17 that I'm gonna let somebody else do it, doesn't mean you're getting old, it means you, like a lot of us, have just gotten tired of being bit so why get so invested only to be disapointed. Of all the SPS'ers that have followed this **** for the last 8 years, how many get worked up about it?

No, you got smart......lol. Sports is supposed to be fun, and you have realized that you weren't having any with this and some other stuff. I'm 68 and an Ole Miss alum, and we used to visit friends back and forth between Starkville and Oxford and have fun. We'd get together after the games and talk about what we saw, etc. I am really disappointed in all of the vituperation and hate from both sides. It's stupid. People don't enjoy the game for the game itself anymore at most any level.

I personally hope that Chris Jones winds up where HE wants to be. That's what is important, not what I or anyone else wants.

So far, I think you may be the best OM poster this board has ever seen.

This transcends sports. You see it in politics, business and professional discourse, and ordinary life. We are living in a time of self and self actualization as the highest power, the greatest goal. We demand to get what we want, when we want it; we live as if that is the purpose of our being.

Humpty Dumpty needs to go ahead and fall so we can reboot.

It's coming.

I am the same age, and I feel the exact same way. I just don't care that much anymore. There are so many other things to care about ... things you can actually quantify.

Same here. I don't even want to hear a recruits name until he is announced as a starter and is trotting out onto the field.

The creepiness of recruiting has always kept me away from it. I'll read bits and pieces to laugh at the crazies or to remind me why I hate it.

I still check in regularly just don't post as much. Now that my son is no longer playing ball, my interest in football has ebbed quite a bit and I've gotten back into backpacking and some other pursuits that I set aside for awhile. But, I do still enjoy coming around, particularly to read yours and other's wit laced posts. I find this board one of the most entertaining reads out there. Have a good one.

I meant to ask: have you (or anyone else) seen CDawgHouston around lately? I've not seen him around at all and was wondering if he is still here. He goes way back to some of the early boards.

You've got it. I cannot believe the number of people whose self worth depends on what a bunch of kids do. It's the pros with some.

Common sense has no place in the recruiting dojo.

This post pretty much describes my relationship with the many friends I have that cheer for Ole Miss. Don't let it get to you. The internet recruiting season is like a once a year family reunion where you have to endure all those crazy *** cousins you make a point of avoiding the rest of the year and you hope your wife doesn't think the behavior they exhibit will show up in any children you have.
