I guess it's time to start wondering since Sidney is playing well...

but if I was a GM... Renardo Sidney would be the last person I would spend a pick on, based on attitude.

Talent, however, which seems to be the driving force in NBA drafts, is another story. If he continues to improve and become the dynamic player everyone thought we had when we signed with us, then we could lose him.

It should also be noted that Renardo has contemplated holding a press conference to state that he's coming back next year, because he's tired of answering that question. I'll believe it when I see it.

The road to the NBA is littered with guys just like him. If he kicks it up some more and puts us in the sweet 16 and the natl meadia is talking him up then all bets are off.

He'll probably slip down the draft board based on being out of shape and only having a half a season under his belt since 2008. Regardless of his fatness and and questionable character, he's still got Top 5 pick talent. By the time the season is over, he'll probably will have shown enough to be a legit 1st round pick - somebody will take him.

I give it 30% because there could be the chance he's teetering on guaranteed money and being a 2nd round pick. Knowing that he's got Top 5 potential, an extra season might be worth sticking around to bump up his status and paycheck. Seeing that he didn't show up ready to play this season in decent shape, I'm going to say it's more likely he's going to take his first shot at money rather than spending an extra unpaid year bettering himself.

doesnt have to.

He is an obvious offensive talent- needs alot of work defensively and work habits appear to be lacking

Would a team want to draft him and try to push him with their weight program? And decide they can teach him to play better defense? The advantage is that they would have him working at their facility all day and can keep a close tab on him-

disadvantage? Spending a high draft pick and all that money on someone that could easily be a bust

I dont know- they may want him to stay in college another year just to show he can stay committed to something

GM Michael Jordan once drafted high school senior Kwame Brown ahead of Duke senior Shane Battier because he said Kwame Brown was "well educated".

I know...I know...Stansbury. But the talent for that team would be unreal and would definitely be Stansbury's best shot of that elusive Sweet 16. Plus, those freshmans would be able to ease into playing.

it never seems to work out for one reason or another.

Ya know, Rhodes, Varnado, Osby, Jamont, Barry Stewart, and Ravern was suppose to be that type of team too.

or would we just go with 3 guards?

I could see that being a real problem- having that athletic, 6-5 or 6-6 player at the 3

We'll see how he progresses the rest of the season. He has the talent of course to be a top 10 pick and it would be a shame to see him opt for the draft in his current status. I do understand decision making hasn't been his strong suit lately, so I'll put the odds at 3:1 that he leaves after this year.

I'm thinking Hood takes over for RJ. Lewis and Moultrie probably play the 4/5 next year if Sidney leaves. My question is who is the backcourt along side Bost? Would Deville Smith be ready where we could move Bost to the 2? Would Steele or Bryant move into the 2 spot to replace Benock as a starter? DJ Gardner might be a factor too I don't know.

But Hood could be Ravern's body double, I think I saw him listed at 180.

I also read an article on Moultrie that said his game was facing the basket and that he was a good 3 pt shooter.

Believe he will be the perfect one to take Ravern's place next year. Here's his writeup:

Over the course of his high school career Hood, who is headed to Mississippi State, has continued to add to his game. A long, lean 6-foot-6 wing, Hood has terrific size for his position and is a high level scorer. His mid-range game has made strides and he has range to the three-point strip. Hood will need to get stronger and continue to develop his ball handling, but he has an impressive upside and should be a terrific player at MSU.

275 player in college with his skills. I'll give you a minute.

He was projected in the 1st round FOREVER before he even played a game. Since the suspension he has been kicked to projected round 2, but now that he is playing, if he plays well, he's going round 1. If he plays real well, he'll go top 10.

I'm glad I'm alone in this.

Had he not been suspended for LA Tech, we go to a bowl that year and Croom hangs on.

People with an NBA body, tons of potential, and questionable work ethic/drive generally cruise down that road right to the first round of the draft, where they get guaranteed money. Now, the roadthat starts at the end of the first guaranteed contract and leads away from the NBA is littered with guys like him (except that they have also generally had the opportunity to blow through a few million dollars in a few years first) and avoiding that road could in fact start now for him if he wants.

Will be drafted on his frame and potential alone. NBA teams will look at him like another Zack Randolph (the latest all-star caliber version, not the former.)

Some of you are getting way carried away here. If he plays well Saturday then we'll talk NBA/100% gone.

he averaged 3 points and 3 rebounds a game. That being said, he did actually play some defense, and I don't know of him having any discipline problems. It all depends on how big of a hurry Sidney is to get out of college.

Both are five star recruits who will have one year of college. Sidney is, I believe, more talented. Orton appears to be more mature. After being picked in the bottom of the first round, the only action he has seen is in the D-League, playing for a team who have no rebounding presence other than Dwight Howard.

If he just wants to be drafted, he;ll go and be in the latter part of the first round at best and possibly second round which means no guaranteed money. If he wants to roll the dice and play another year in hopes of being a first rounder, then welcome back.

These things rarely seem to go our way.

I'm pretty sure that the NBA's Labor Deal is in question. I think the owners might push to make the 1-year out of high school rule a 2-years out of high school rule.<div>
</div><div>If that were to take place, Sidney's stock would go up because he'd be eligible to leave where the other one-and-done stars (the guys at UK for example) would be back for another year.</div><div>
</div><div>At the same time, he had two good games against two of the worst basketball schools in the worst basketball division in D-I basketball...Carmelo Anthony he is not...</div>
