Crawford wasa last minute signee with no other real offers.

Nutt is cutting guys who have been committed for months.

In the end he unexpectedly qualified. MSU told him he could still do sign and place at GCCC or look around. I believe one of our coaches hooked him up with FIU.

Entirely different than a "no doubt" qualifier that has long been committed and then jettisoned due to a higher profile player becoming available.

Let's not let incorrect statements spun as fact get in the way of the truth.

Paul Crawford told Mississippi State when he committed on the eve of signing day that he was going to qualify.

Paul Crawford could end up at Gulf Coast Community College.
The 6-foot-8, 245-pound defensive end from Lewisville, Texas was telling the truth and will graduate next month with his academic affairs in order. But the only problem in the equation is that the Bulldogs oversigned and are now short on scholarships.

"I already qualified but the only problem is Mississippi State oversigned," Crawford said. "They told me that some other dude may not qualify and if he doesn't then I may be able to come in at his spot. They signed me with the intentions of me not qualifying even though I told them 20,30 or 40 times that I'm qualifying. When I qualified they seemed shocked. They told me that they had oversigned and I might have to go to a junior college. I felt so bad. That messed me up."

with the current commits, OM will have to 'cut', greyshirt, Med hardship, or transfer ~15 players or signees by Aug.Add any more commits and the number of commits goes up with it. S' plane that when you get a chance.

Lets do it slowly.

By his own words...........

MSU told him they didn't expect him to qualify and regardless they didn't have a scholarship for him.
From day one they told him they were placing him at GCCC
To MSU's surprise he qualified.
MSU offered to honor sign and place agreement or allow him to look around.

If you need it simpler, go to the Ed Center.

It sucks for these kids who get scratched but it's not as frequent of an event around Starkville as it is some places.

..of all the wild & stupid **** Nutt has pulled with players (& evidently is going to pull with players), & you try to balance the scales with the isolated incident of Paul Crawford?

It's getting late. I would speculate you have put off your algebra homework to the last minute.

Ridiculous rumor. Grandy was a starter in some games last year.

that a starter might transfer, be arrested, quit the team, etc. It only happens every year in D-I football.

Then I have to assume they were basing their decision on something that didn't look very good on his transcript and conversations with the school. Players always think they're going to qualify so I expect him to say nothing else.

His name was brought up I think the last week before signing day and even then we were told he was sign and place probably so for this one I'm giving the coaching staff the benefit of the doubt. I thing Harrison-Gay was also a suprise qualifier as when he initially committed I remember it being expected that he was JUCO or Prep School bound, but he made it.

The difference in the situation is we took a guy expecting him NOT to qualify where OM is cutting guys they know full well are qualified. Plus you're doing it to way more than 1 guy.

Regardless it's unfortunate that it happens anywhere to any kid, regardless of situation.

"Grandy". That's what I call it when an OM cheerleader gives me a hooter washin'. I just got a "grandy". The only thing that's rising is me, when she's doing the reverse cowgirl.</p>

You even highlighted it. He was TOLD there may not be a spot and it was conditional. But dont let that get in the way of your agenda.
