I agree that it was a stupid thing to do, because it makes us (MSU alumni and Mississippians in general) look like complete stereotypical racist douchebag idiots. But I don't agree that our students should stop trying to get into the other team's head just because we're scared they will beat poor lil' MSU worse if we make them mad. In my day, we sat courtside and gave the players hell to distract them, and I appreciate students trying to do that now somehow, if they are smart about it.
I liked Mullen talking **** before the Egg Bowl, because he and the team went out and backed it up. And I like the idea of somehow getting the basketball team fired up, if only to see if they will grow a pair and back it up. If the Cats win tomorrow, it will be because they have better players (or are better coached, take your pick) not because some nerd texted Cousins 3 days before the game.
This smacks a little of the old MSU mentality that I thought we all agreed we should get away from.
