I agree that it was a stupid thing to do, because it makes us (MSU alumni and Mississippians in general) look like complete stereotypical racist douchebag idiots. But I don't agree that our students should stop trying to get into the other team's head just because we're scared they will beat poor lil' MSU worse if we make them mad. In my day, we sat courtside and gave the players hell to distract them, and I appreciate students trying to do that now somehow, if they are smart about it.

I liked Mullen talking **** before the Egg Bowl, because he and the team went out and backed it up. And I like the idea of somehow getting the basketball team fired up, if only to see if they will grow a pair and back it up. If the Cats win tomorrow, it will be because they have better players (or are better coached, take your pick) not because some nerd texted Cousins 3 days before the game.

We certainly have stupid fans like everywhere else, but it doesn't take a whole lot of intelligence to think that would be a way an to embarrass another school. Just doesn't seem that far fetched that somebody from UM (or MSU if the situation were reversed) would do this. We already have people face book stalking 17 years olds; it's somehting of a leap from that to this, but is it really that big of a leap?

I say Cousins should give out the number of some of the people that used racial slurs so they can be Crunchy Miked. If the racial texts came from computers, I think the company line should be that we're disappointed in Cousins for accusing them of being state fans without evidence. If that doesn't work, we just hope the announcers will refer to us as Ole Miss during the whole game, instead of the usual approach of calling us the wrong name half the time.
