I hate Miami as much as the next guy, but this really sucks for Damp

This is probably it for him, really wanted to see him get a ring before he hung it up. Always liked the guy.

If so, interesting that he's now with Miami losing to Dallas.

He was with Dallas after enduring all those ****** seasons with Golden State, Dallas makes that run to the championship, are up to games and then implode. He moves to Miami, gets what looks as close to a sure thing as you can have, and then his old team wins. And the crappy thing is he was starting all year, and then didn't see a bit of time in the playoffs. They showed him walking off consoling Bosh, he can at least say that he's been here before.

how satisfying would it have really been to get a ring when you weren't even on the active roster when it was won. I had forgotten about Dampier even being on the Heat until I saw him consoling Bosh after the loss.

Damp winning a ring he had virtually nothing to do with winning or seeing Lebron, Wade, and Bosh fall short? Not even close. Lets take those State blinders off for a second. The final four was nice. Pulling for the 17'ing Heat so that Damp can win a ring that will show up on Pawn Stars in 10 years is a little much. Like him as much as the next guy, but seriously, 17 the Heat.
