After reading various articles on foxsports.com, espn.com, etc... it seems more of the writers and comments by readers seem to think Croom was a good coach and MSU was wrong for firing him. They constantly bring up the race issue and seem to not notice he had a horrible record and showed no signs of being able to change and adapt his offense which was clearly not working. He had yet to rank in the top 100 offenses in his five year term. Most seem to think we should not expect to win and settle for a character builder. I ask these people to hire him for their schools now since he needs a job. Doubt many takers for that one.
Yes it is safe and PC to say the "black" coach was doing good and was forced out to early, but that is crap. Croom could have been as white as Will Smith and still needed to go.

Mark May at ESPN has also compared Charlie Weis to Ty willingham saying Ty got fired so Charlie should too. I agree Charlie should go but can we quit comparing black and white coaches! It is unfair to all involved and pretty much racist on all levels. Football coaches are graded on wins, plain and simple. You win, we love you. You lose, we hate you.

That's what is so infuriating - we are EXPECTED to stay losers. If a coach were to hand in 4 outta 5 losing seasons anywhere else, NOBODY would say they should have gone "one more year". Even some of our own fans have become complacent with being the armpit of the .......I was going to say SEC, but hell we lost to LA Tech, Maine, etc.....

I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday and they were interviewing an assistant from Alabama. They asked him about the Croom resignation and he said, "I just hope this was Sylvester's decision, and not Mississippi State forcing him out. He's done a lot for that school and I would hope they wouldn't repay him like that." First of all, who gives a flying %@## what a divisional rival thinks about our staffing decisions. I mean, do we really think 'Bama wants us to have a good coach! Second, since when is it the accepted practice to allow a losing coach to make the decision to stay or go. Third, since Alabama loves his fat *** so much they should hire him........oh, yeah....they had the chance.......but knew better.
