Out of fairness, the latest NAFOOM thread had a few SIXPACK posters in the thick of it as well. I remember getting an email from somebody about four or five days after signing day with a very elaborate conspiracy theory laid out involving cars, jobs, girls, and recliners... yep, according to my friend, everyone in the Elliot Entourage was given their very own leather recliner.
Everyone on all of these boards is guilty of a little of this obsession with stars or 40 times or whatever. We all wonder aloud why recruit X would want to go to that Cow College, Thug-Infested University, or Tiny Private School, etc instead of our perfect little patch of green.
There seems to be a grudge that some members of every fanbase hold onto for years beyond what is normal. I have friends who still complain about the time keepers at an LSU/MSU in the 1970's... as if the sole reason for State's football history since then can be pinned to those guys. Ole Miss fans have many similar historical events.
Personally, while Robert Elliot's true potential has never really been measured, thanks to Croom, I am quite happy he got away from us. There remains the slightest possibility that he would have been just good enough at Ole Miss for us to beat you guys despite Orgeron's ineptitude. Then we would have just completed a fourth season under Orgeron.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank whoever supplied the leather recliners to Robert's family and hope for the best for his rehab.
