Florida vs Troy. What channel in Jackson? WJTV appears to be showing US Open and there is no where else in the guide to watch.

Last week I scrolled through all the channels and there are a ton more channels carrying college football than there were last year. I just went through all of them looking for UF/Troy and couldn't find it anywhere.

And I looked into it, but I like teh cabel internetz. I don't want DSL and there's a slight price difference to have both, to me its not worth it. Plus the wife insists that if there's a could in the sky you can't watch TV. There's no convincing her otherwise.
Plus I've had Comcast here for 2 years and everytime my promo deal goes away I call them and tell them I'm switching and they upgrade my plan and lower the price.

That's why I got 360 loaded up; just in case the situation has not improved by 6.

Somebody please kill Murphy before the power goes out.

Fox Sports broadcasts in HD, but we don't get HD FSN correct? FSN on comcast is channel 33 but there is no corresponding HD channel?

The Florida game is not being picked up in Jackson - Tennis is!

as I want the damn Sunday Ticket. But after the first five months, my bill would be $125. With no internet. I pay that with internet. I want Sunday Ticket, but not for $50 extra a month, not counting paying for Sunday Ticket itself.

I'm gonna price out Uverse here again in a few minutes. I'll see if they have come down any.

untill a couple of months ago, there was a channel on the Comcast HD package (I don't remember what number, but it was directly above ESPNHD on the guide, 401 i think) that was off the air most times, but they would randomly show sports on it. I watched a couple of State b-ball games on it last winter. You might check it out.

ETA: missed where DS already mentioned channel 401. Plus I don't think this is going to be much of a game very much longer. florida is knocking on the door for another TD.

Troy QB just tossed an INT. This is starting to shape up like a Florida highlight reel.

ETA: changed the score. One play TD drive. couldn't even post before they scored again.

i purchased Sunday Ticket last year, so I checked my bill last month and Directv had started charging me for this upcoming season. I called pretty pissed off that they would just automatically assume one would purchase it again again...told them I wanted it taken off my bill and that I wouldnt be purchasing the ticket this year......the lady started off offering 5 dollars off a month on the package for me to keep....she worked her way ALL the way $25 per month DISCOUNT over the course of the 5 month charge......well out of sheer principle of them charging me I still cancelled it....and wth the saints arent here in Bham tomorrow

was Nadal winning a 2nd set tiebreak and a 6-0 3rd set to blow open a match that was 7-6, 6-6 when the rain came Thursday to win 7-6, 7-6, 6-0 and then more rain. I'd normally rather watch the tennis but I'd rather watch UF-Troy than that.

I don't get the digital channels but if you are getting it, I should be able to get it through the digital box I would think.

No it's not - you must have been quoted for every channel they offer or something. I have the DirecTV choice plan (or something like that), which includes some extra sports channels (FSS for example), plus I have HBO and Starz and I pay like $81 per month. It would be in the $60 range without the movie channels.

They have always done the auto purchase thing with any sports subscription (NFL Sunday Ticket, March Madness, etc.). I kinda like that they do that though, because when the wife bitches about the charge every year I just tell her that I forgot to cancel it aGAIN the past year, but will remember to do so next year (which I purposely don't do).

by the wife that we are in the middle of a 12 month promo that deducts $20 from our bill per month that they gave us for being a long time customer (or something). So if you add that back in I would be paying around $100 for the choice with movie channels. I have the HD package with 2 DVRs - so what you were quoted seems in-line.

I am able to get OnDemand for free, though. I have an ethernet cable that connects my DVR to my DSL modem, FYI.

and I don't have a home phone. I'd still have to go get internet somewhere, so it would end up $50 more than I pay for cable. Ok, now I'm really going to price Uverse.

Jesus, have you missed the 20 threads this week addressing it? The 17n game WILL BE ON 401. They never update the guide for that channel because it's off air about 90% of the time, i.e. FSN's only HD is football. As for the UF/Troy game and the UT game last week, I think that's just a local Jackson problem more than it is Comcrap. The pitfalls of our local SEC affiliate being the CBS station.
