here at MSU. We are about to have lost our entire defensive side of the ball and not one of those coaches took a job promotion, they were all lateral moves. This is not good for recruiting or continuity. You can generally expect to lose 1 coach every couple of years for this or that reason but to lose your entire foundation on defense is troublesome. You can basically kiss Thompson good bye to the rebs and it wouldn't surprise me to see a couple of others start to waiver. These kids develop their most important relationships with the position coaches and it not only hurts the 2010 class but it hurts the kids we were selling for next year. If the rumors of Melvin retiring are true then I am going to blow a freakin casket.
So what is the problem? Sherrill never had these kinds of problems and I don't remember Croom having those types. And anybody that knew JWS knows he was tough on assistant coaches. I can remember numerous times JWS just chewing up a couple of guys on the sidelines. BUT JWS also knew how to be a leader and handle them. You cannot tell me losing 4 coaches doesn't disrupt the flow of the program and I think it will impact the season ahead.
