I have not been as indifferent to an MSU game since......last week.

That is not to say that I am just terribly down on Mullen or our football team but am just sort of numb.

Even if we get slaughtered the next two weeks, a win against Arkansas and a win against a likely ranked Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl and a BBVA Compass Bowl win would make a night and day difference in excitement for next year.

That being said, a win today would probably make me paint my house maroon and run down the street clanging a cowbell like a mad man.

What keeps college football, and sports in general fun, is the unknown. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED! With this team, we know what to expect.

At some point I'm assuming some excitement. I don't know if that's because we lose a game to Ark or OM, or we knock someone off.

I agree with Stratdawg. Try to enjoy the game as a prelude to Bama-LSU. But there's some pretty good story lines for the game.

State's actually playing a game at 2:30 CST.
It's JFF's last game at home.
(Mullen's) Last game (at) (the present) Kyle Field.
Everything surrounding Dak.
Will State improve on the offensive production against USCe?
Did State learn anything on D from last year?
Will A&M students stay through halftime?

My problem is just like 57Strat. We are picked to lose. So, we will lose. Vegas must love the hell out of Dan Mullen. I like that we always win if we are favored. It is a nice change. The opposite scenario at times sucks worse.

I'm with you brother, I was fire up about this A&M game when I

purchased the tickets in the summer. But then I went to the OSU game and it's been downhill ever since. The unknown, the excitement of a possible upset, I just don't get that from this bunch. If I didn't know better it's like the games are fixed with a 2nd half collapse predetermined. The sad part of this is that I live in Texas and can't see the dawgs often but I sold my tickets this week on Stub Hub.

Now that my friends is apathy. Damn it. I am there but maybe not that far gone yet.... or it could be that I haven't been able to see us play in person for 6 seasons. The closest are Ark and Mizzou and we instead play in Little Rock for Ark and won't play Mizzou often.

Wow, that's pretty sad. I think this post is the ultimate example of the level of hope our fan base has left for this football program. I myself have not been to a game since we played Alabama at home in 2011. I just have no desire to waste a day at one of our games anymore. It's plum pitiful.

I understand. We are just predictable. Not only on offense, but we are predictably not in games with bigtime teams. I've considered DVRing this one so I can fast forward through commercials, timeouts, replays, and the announcers fellating JFF, but I am going to work on my CV and job application instead when the game gets out of hand.
