18 seconds left in the half, we have the ball on our own 30 and we start winging the ball down the field as if we were trying to score before half?? I have no
problem taking a knee in that situation OR seeing if we can make a big play or get an interference call. Either way..it's just a feel thing. But at LSU,
with 49 seconds before half, with the ball on our 45 and 3 time outs and the momentum..we quit. I don't get it. Croom is right, out players have no
decisive or consistant leader.

Also, why we havent recruited any type of kicker in 5 years is beyond me. You may be sick of hearing me talk about this but I really dont care. I was a guest
in a suite Saturday of the cousin of Swayze Waters (NET avg punt last Saturday, 51 yards for UAB...and if you remember almost beat us by himself last year). I
was introduced to his parents who were also in the suite and have always been Bulldog supporters. I asked first hand about Swayze's recruitment to State.
There was no recruitment. He kicked at Jackson Prep where Paul Lacoste (MSU) was his position coach and Ricky Black (MSU) was his head coach. Both of those
coaches contacted McCorvey who was in charge of recruiting that area about their punter/kicker. McCorvey never called him once. In my opinion, McCorvey needs
to go for more that just offensive ineptness. Our kicking "specialists" are costing us games.

was a hs senior the same year as Jacob Simpson from Ripley. We had multiple talented kids in state that year that were never contacted. I do know, however, that Simpson received a phone call from Stringer (who was a g.a. at the time) in late July. Let me repeat, 17'in late July people. Two weeks before school started. I can't believe he ever decided to walk on at State a year later.

Crooms staff is a direct reflection of him. The thought we had a coach aired on national television saying, "winston churchill say..," is an utter embarassment at best.

17 you Crooms, Felker, Jones, McCorvey, Sringer, and whoever else wants to be a part of this piece of **** staff. You are 17'in incompetent if you're looking to work under Crooms anyway.

who is Carlson related to or who are his parents funding? He has some pull somewhere.

that I heard was that his family and Gene are good friends and apparently Gene has more pull than Paul LaCoste and Ricky Black. If true, there's problem #1.

I don't think it's Gene, just because it would be too depressing to think he had pull. But I do know, Simpson's family had CLOSE connections with the top TWO private donors to State and it didn't grant him any favors. Sad part is, Simpson didn't need any connections. That guy was legit. Apparently, Waters folks might be in the same situation if they're sittin' in the skybox.

Didn't give Crooms any wins either. 17 you walrus looking bastard.

Waters' first cousin is HUGE donor. His mother is a State alum and his sister is now a freshman at State. Usually we give these token scholarships to players who suck to pacify donors. Only here can we pass on the ones who are legit.

We didn't even contact the Waters kid? Really? That's exactly what I heard also.

And guess what....as long as we are talking about the lack of recruitment in the Jackson Metro area.....let's ask the legitimate question of "who is responsible for the Jackson area?"

McCorvey.

Ask around in Madison county...at some schools he hasn't been SEEN in years....Years! And I am not talking about Canton Academy. There have been some legit players who were open to coming to State, and we never talked with them.

Amen. He should be fired for not working this side of the job either. Just what the Hell does he do? Where was he when he was supposed to be on the road to recruit? What about his expense account? Can he account for that money?

You know, this just might be the way to approach getting rid of his sorry *** right away ....and not at the end of the year.

about the interest in their running back. [Disclaimer: the kid is too small to fit Croom's mold; certainly too small to run 25 times a game]. But the kid is getting looks at secondary (although he will be very raw at any secondary position). Kid's been contacted by Ole Miss, Michigan and Alabama (for sure) because, as this coach put it, he is a hell of an athlete and can play D1.

State? "nope."

Really? "nothing."

You're kidding. "I'm not kidding."

I know Stringer at that time was responsible for recruiting the northeasat MS area. Had McCorvey called Simpson, I doubt he would have understood him and mistaken it as a call from Valley State.

My question is simple...why do you let a kicker who is about 58% for his career (Carlson) continue? I don't understand. I know special teams aren't important in the Southern Heritage Classic but WTF????? This is the SEC Crooms...I know why you hired the assistants you did, and it's not because they're qualified to do anything but shovel ****.

FYI, Adam Carlson...I like you. You're a nice guy with a good head on your shoulders and I wish the best for you. You are in a situation you should have never been in. So when you're doing something besides kicking, good luck.

Don't get me started on McShanks.

to the idea that it's a "privilege" to play at State.

Good luck with that Walrus.

this week if any special packages were being put together for Pegues on offense this week. Croom, "Nope." Maybe a slight stretch but we have one of the best athletes in the country on our team in Pegues..nevermind his stats as a QB at S. Panola. Can you imagine him, if only on occasion, in one of those direct snap situations with Dixon and Ducre beside him?? Imagine what Saban or Meyer would do with Pegues. But unfortunatley, our coach is too inflexible, or more likely, too unable to adapt an offense around an exceptional athlete. So there's your answer, Shmuley. That's why we are not going after a player Michigan and Alabama have contacted. He won't fit in.

We have a walk on kicker from Prep this year, Zack Warden, who is without a doubt better than Carlson and he isn't allowed to kick.

Warden lives just down the street from me and I've heard from multiple sources that he's better than anything we have on campus currently and in the past few years.

His family is not an "MSU family". His dad played baseball at USM and his brother went to Ole Miss when he was being recruited. And I'm pretty sure LaCoste wasn't and never has been a coach at prep. He's a personal trainer in jackson I believe..maybe have been a coach for a while but I'm not aware of it.

He is, I know him and have played against him in high school. I don't know much about Richards except that he is a *****, but Zack is way better than Carlson. I think Carlson plays strictly because he is a senior, the same reason last year Sherrod played behind Hamilton even when he was grading out higher and the reason this year that Gates was starting even though we run the ball better with Jenkins in. Croom will find a way to play a ****** older player no matter how well the younger guy behind him is playing.

an "MSU family" but I mentioned being in his first cousins' suite at the game Saturday and that they were big MSU donors...also that his mother was an MSU alum and that his sister was now a freshman at State. And anyone living in the Jackson area halfway works out is aware that Paul Lacoste IS a personal trainer here. Again, if you read my initial post, my information came first hand (from Joel Waters lips to my ears) that Paul was his position coach at Prep and Black was his head coach and both contacted McCorvey on Swayze's behalf. I have no reason to believe Mr. Waters has reason to lie about that.
