I heard MSU as being called a 'commuter' school on weekends

When you think there is going to be nothing happening and are contemplating going home, don't. Talk a few buddies into staying in town as well and get a head start on all the other freshmanS. They might think you are foolish, but in all reality, you are probably cooler than them anyway. The "down" weekends are always the best, bc its either your close friends or random people. Some people I hang out with every weekend nowadays are ones I met on random summer/break nights.

But by all means don't be that typical freshman. It's funny as an upperclassman to pick out the freshies. Especially the girls. They are the worst. The ones who complain about "nothing going on" and end up going home or hanging out with friends from their hometown. Those type of chicks wouldn't know a good time if it slapped them in the face. (no pun intended)

Yes, Gainesville was a great party town and I was getting a great education; BUT I had much more of a sense of a college community feeling at MSU! Friends were easy to come by & I hardly ever left town - including the summers. I got an excellent education including two degrees there. Graduated with my MBA and went to work for a major corporation; got married and didn't move for several years later. I even built Apartments behind City Bagel on Hartness St. Spent 12 of the best years of my life in StarkVegas (and only 4 years in school at MSU for inquiry minds)!! Just do it!!

I'm going to be too far away from home to even think about going back on a regular basis.

This is my 3rd yr at state and coming here was the best decision i ever made. This place has something for everybody. My first year i never partied and had a blast. Since then i have done my fair share of partying but you definitely dont have to party to have fun here. And if you have the opportunity to stay during the summer DO IT some of the best times have been during the summer. That weekend thing is ******** its 8 on friday night of a holiday weekend and a few of my friends are asking whats goin on tonight. I have friends that go to usm and om and they all come here when they wanna have a good time. My roommate and i have yet to visit them because they come here so often. I live within an hour of usm's campus and while i have always been a state fan i thought i would end up there. Thank God i got the chance to come here i wouldnt trade my experience here for anything

We don't have anything to prove to him.

He needs to prove that he's a man and can make a decision.

Make a decision. Choose STATE or go somewhere else.

Depends on the $$$, if I get my out of state waived + additional scholarships I'm a BullDog. If not I'll probably stay in state.
