that they were talking about him being a child molester, having relations with boys, etc...

As much as I'm ready for the end of Polk, that is way over the line. I don't blame Polk. If any of you have had the pleasure of knowing one of the few USM fans, you know how bad they really can be. Polk was probably right when he said they were worse than other places.

Regardless, he should've kept it out of the media. If he had complaints, he should've complained to security during the game and to USM after the game. Complaining through a reporter did nothing but make it worse.

But, to use a Polk line: That's baseball.

Heckling is heckling. I mean some might be more offensive than others. But, how in the hell do you decide what bothers you and what doesn't? You make the decision that no heckling bothers you. That's what you do at least if you are focused on winning a game and you have a wonderlic score of more than 14.

We would have just beaten Mississippi Southern 15-1 and most of the hecklers would have gone home early. Can we just forfeit the rest of the season?

he is ending his career on a horrible season and that all this crap is happening. He should have quit after the CWS last year. We could have thrown this huge party celebreating a storied career. And everyone would have had good memories. Now, we will have all this moronic, crazyass ******** seared into our memories.

By the way, what could possilby have been said in the heckling that could possibly be worse than outfielders getting beer poured on them or a watermelon being heaved out on the field? I mean, ****. Sticks an stones?????

Things at USM that are hands down worse than anywhere else I have been. That includes LSU, State, Bama, you name it. The short man syndrome is full blown down there especially when OM or State comes to town.

</p>we would be going through this crap with at least two more years of Raffo. Believe me, the way things worked out are probably the best for us in the long run.

I would have loved to see Polk go out (whenever) through the curtain at the CWS, that aint happening. A horrible season, all of his whining and tired excuses are what many fans will remember, which is not indicative of what he has done for MSU, as well as college baseball itself. He should not be acting like this and I'm very disappointed. From the sidelines, you just turn on your selective hearing and ignore the idiots. The thing that makes all of this so stupid is the fact that we do the same if not worse each game. I'm ready for this to be over with.

That's what I was about to say. Had Polk retired last year after the CWS run, sure it would've been better for his legacy, but it wouldn't have been what's best for MSU in the long run. LT was still an active AD at the time, which means you would've had a campus-wide replacement search that would've ended with Tommy Raffo as your coach. In hindsight, Polk would've had a better legacy and gotten what he wanted out of the deal had he left last year, so from his perspective, it would've been the best move. However, for the future of MSU baseball, it's probably good that he stuck around and put a little tarnish on his legacy as he leaves, giving you the opportunity to have a nationwide search and find a replacement that can lead MSU back to being one of the top teams in the SEC on a yearly basis.
