I hope Dan doesn't let us get big heads for the Auburn game.

I know I had a big head after that game and then had to bring myself back down to earth and remind myself that we're still playing the defending national champions on the road. We still have something to prove and we don't need to go in there with the wrong mentality. That being said, I hope we put up 600 yards on them.

that he does not allow this to happen, for the most part. And I think our players know that Memphis is truly awful. That being said, it is something that always worries you and because of that I am happy Auburn won because our team's mindset probably wouldn't be what it should.<div>
</div><div>I really do think that we will beat Auburn by at least a couple of touchdowns if the same team I watched yesterday lines up against us next Saturday. I'll still probably have a knot in my stomach starting on Wednesday, though.</div>

Our rushing defense still scares me, but then again how the hell did Auburn only amass 78 rushing yards against USU with the likes of Dyer?

but Auburn has still won the past 16 times they have played in a football game. I dont see how you cant be a little nervous about winning this one. On the road, Auburn always finding ways to win the close ones, etc.

And the confidence you get from that is a big reason why they won yesterday. I expect we'll see a much better Auburn team next week. I still think we can and will win, butit won't be easy.

to be in the players ear all week. I'm not worried about us having the big head. I'm worried about AU having the big head (not the "play like ****" big head, I mean someone playing out of their mind big head). They celebrated yesterday like they had just beaten Alabama or something.

Trotter had great numbers yesterday. When AU needed a stop on D they got it, when they needed a play on offense, they got it. If you have learned anything over the years, the prior weeks performance is not indicative of how a team will perform the next week. If that were true, picking winners would be a lot easier. Auburn will be ready. If we have no turnovers or stupid personal fouls, we win. Our DB's are in for a busy day. I see a lot of short passes coming at them all day. Gotta make that 1st tackle, yards after catch killed Utah State late. Auburn's D was on the field a lot of plays, 80 or more I think. That's really good for us. Gonna be a close one.

I was trying to say if we lost, it wouldn't be because we had "big heads." <div>
</div><div>One thing I'll say on that, Trotter had ZERO pressure on him when it counted most. USU went to pure prevent defense on the drive inside 2 minutes and that, along with a poorly executed onside kick, killed them. The way you win games inside 2 minutes is mixing up looks. Trotter needed pressure on him to get rid of the ball, not build a camp fire, sing a song, and throw the ball to a wide open receiver underneath the zone. I could hit those throws.</div><div>
</div><div>My point in all that is AU won a close game from behind yesterday... they have tons of confidence (indicated by the way they celebrated beating a 4-8 WAC team)... but we won't lose because we had big heads. We haven't won enough games the past few years to have hot heads and Mullen won't let us have hot heads. We made enough mistakes against Memphis for the coaches to chew on the players this week. </div>

That's over 43 points per game. In 2011, The Mississippi St. averages over 55 ppg. Auburn didn't show me that they could stop our offense any more than Michigan or Memphis could. They let a 4-8 Utah St. team get one executed onsides kick away from whipping them.
