I hope every fan that bashed Huggins realizes how wrong they were now

Bob Huggins is the best thing that happened to WVU sports in a long time. He is hard nosed and doesn't put up with anything. If you don't play defense and rebound, and play for the team first, he doesn't want you in his program. I liked Harris and Henderson, and was sorry to see them go. I don't question his methods anymore though. The man knows this sport, and can take us all the way.

The OP is spot on--except no WVU fans were questioning. Those that were are just those from the outside trying to take down WVU athletics.

sadly, there were several on this board as little as 2 years ago calling for a change. Those fans called him overrated, a has been, couldn't recruit, racked up most of his wins at cinci in CUSA, etc. they made fun of his weight, and posted pictures of his court side chair. I remember them even if they won't admit it now.

I love Huggy but I admittedly thought his time was passing heading into last season, glad he proved he still very much has it.

I remember me even now.... ...even though you're grouping people...

And that's the key point. They all realize they were wrong, but none of them will admit it.

They are all Half Assed Mountaineers, who think they know what they are talking about, when actually don't even know who they are, because their heads are up their butts so far, they can't think straight.

Who's the guy who told me wvu would have to fire Huggins last year after a losing season? I swore he'd quit if it happened but bet he'd coach us to 20 wins. #fixedit

I'm enjoying this team that Huggs has put together. And Huggs is to be credited for this team and the way that it plays. I am especially enamored with the improving guard play. Poor guard play come NCAA time has been a somewhat consistent characteristic of Huggs teams his whole career. Here's hoping that will not be an issue this year.

Further, I simply will not pretend that Bob Huggins hasn't proven that he is just as capable of presiding over a college basketball circus/freak show as he is as capable of presiding over a solid program that features a very competitive team. If the circus breaks out again (stuff like too much player drama, poor performing team, Huggs drunk during presentation at a coaching clinic, Huggs having head on collisions with who knows what) then the criticisms should be raised again.

But right now I like things with this program. May Huggs continue this state of things until his time of retirment.

I know I speak for everyone, we are so glad we have you to hold Huggins accountable. Without your tireless efforts along with numbers we would not have the winning program we have today. Doh

Not sure if that includes me because some people think anything other than absolute adulation is bashing. I'll admit that after the 13-19 season I was worried that potentially Huggins was on the decline as a coach and while the following season was an improvement, I wasn't all that impressed with it either. I expressed those concerns and as I was expressing those same concerns about Holgerson, I didn't want to be a hypocrite. I did note at that time that Huggins had proven to be a good coach at his previous stops as head coach and had taken WVU to the final four and therefore had given good reason for us to have more faith in him than Holgerson to get WVU on track. I don't regret those concerns nor my thinking during those down seasons that if we continued at that level year in and year out that a coaching change would need to be made.

Ridiculous fans like you are the reason I created this thread. The man is a HALL OF FAMER! Do you really think that recruiting at WVU is so easy? To evaluate, not only the talent potential do a player, but the integrity and work ethic as well. It is incredibly difficult, especially when WVU isn't exactly a top destination. I'm sure you would fail plenty of times. Also, the man has faults....as does every coach in the country. He might get his drink on (I'm sure not a problem for you). But I bet he never has NCAA violation levied against our program. There are so many more positives than negatives with Huggins. And if he has a couple of bad years again? We should support him! Stop acting like his achievements here haven't warranted that already.

It's very clear to reasonable people who is being ridiculous.

As I said, I hope that the present state of the bball program more or less continues on until Huggs retires.

Thank you. It's nice to be appreciated. But really .... there were people much more substantial than me raising questions in Oliver Luck's ear about the bball program just 2-3 years ago.

But again ... may the current state of things continue on to the time of Huggs' retirement.

I sleep better at night knowing you will report any rumor you hear no matter the validity. Hey how is your math coming along? Let me know if you need any help. Always willing to put my four semesters of calc. to use to help a fellow mountaineer.

HurdyBoy...................so............you are one of the shiny shoes? I'll bet we know each other. I own the pickle farm (TorontoEERs my Big Cheese) where ole Holgs gets all his pre-game snacks. No, I don't own Red Bull.

I am trembling.
I am in awe of your skill with words.
When you type words I can feel your sense of self-satisfaction vibrating throughout the universe.

Actually .... its pretty clear you believe your own BS and that when you lack a real argument you resort to ad hominem attacks.

It's OK. I get it. Really. You gotta do something to look good in your own eyes.

But since you mention rumors ... do you mind listing for us the rumors you are referring to? We certainly would all be better to have someone like you help us all sift fact from fiction.

Or .... you could just accept that things are relatively stable and good with bball program at this point and, like me, hope for a continuance of the current state of affairs.

Really .... I didn't start this topic.

And actually ... I have never called for him to be fired. I have only said that if certain things kept happening that there would be an increasing uproar over the state of the program.

Actually words are not my thing I am a math kind of person. Sorry about your trembling. I hope it is nothing serious. It is really hard getting any satisfaction bantering with you. You really don't put forth much with any substance or thought. It is a troll thing with you. One negative post after another. My bad for feeding the troll. If that is how you live your life so be it. I do not post rumors as fact that would be your thing. "relatively stable" is as close as you can come to giving the basketball program a compliment. How sad. 15-1 baby with a tough one this weekend. Enjoy this season I know I will.

I have absolutely no problem admitting I was wrong about Huggins. I thought he was finished a few years ago. Part of that was frustration because of the success he had in the past but it is obvious now he had a few recruiting classes that had kids who had terrible attitudes. I applaud Coach Huggins for the job he has done and I'm very very happy I was wrong! Life is about learning lessons from your mistakes and I learned a valuable lesson. Huggins is a HOF coach and WVU is extremely lucky to have him because of his love for West Virginia University and his pride of being a West Virginian. Too bad other coaches originally from West Virginia and who played or coached for WVU don't feel the same way as Huggins.

we lost two players who could score, but neither one gave the same energy on defense..they put the "I" in team.
