Edit: Routt threw 119 pitches today. If he's throwing 150+ pitch complete games, I might be a little worried. But there no reason he shouldn't be able to throw 119 pitches on 6 days rest all season long.

crucial but arm development takes place in the younger years. He may actually get stronger if managed properly. Besides, as an earlier poster stated, we now use ice. Imagine that.
