I didn't pay attention to who the original poster was in a thread on BDJ and I ended up slammin JG. Oops. Oh well, the fact remains I'm sick of the same old **** with all the Stans-haters, and he appears to be one...go figure. I have no personal problems with Jamont (how could I, I don't know him) but if he's going to all but come out against his former coach then he needs to hear a healthy dose of the opposing viewpoint.

and asked people if they thought Stans was the man for the job. The re-post was from some half-literate goober who admitted he didn't like stansbury. I just said his post was idiotic drivel and that if he agreed with this guy he's a moron. (paraphrased)

wherein the "friend" made multiple arguments that Stans should be let go. "Gordon" posted it under the guise of asking what the BDJ posters felt about the arguments. Following the thread, it seems to me that the poster identifying himself as Gordon agrees with the "friend's" assessment.

Wardlaw confirms that that the poster is actually Jamont Gordon. And the poster claims to be Ja'Me. What the hell time is it in Italy anyway?

with the harsh assessment of Stans from the "friend's" e-mail. Of course, the e-mail was such an abomination of the normal rules of syntax and grammar (even by internet standards), I had a hard time reading it. Oh, and they didn't think the 96-97 team was all that bad.

suggests that the poster is either Ja'Me or he has a vivid imagination:

tyler and i talked about playing together at tennessee. to be honest with u tennessee was my first choice and i was going to go there. tyler and i wanted to play for buzz peterson becuase he was the one who was recruiting us hard and if buzz was retained as the head coach then tyler and i would have been playing for him. when pearl got the job i started to look other places and so did tyler. tyler's dad didnt trust pearl and had a lot to do with tyler going to iowa. pearl told me he was going to come and visit me at my house and he never showed up and never called to tell me why he couldnt show up. he told me that he didnt have anymore recruiting hours left so he had to postpone our visit. i later found out that was a lie becuz when he was supposed to be at my house he was at trying to recruit brandan wright (unc). so when i found out that he lied i just cancelled my visit to tennessee and i came to starkville. i liked it so i signed with the dogs and the rest is history. pearl is very sneaky but he is a good coach. i have to give him his props.

...and for what it's worth I've asked Michael before, he says it definitely is Jamont.

I should have said that Ja'Me seems neutral in his opinion. Likes Stans but wonders whether we could do better.

because for the 3 years Jamont was here, Stans pretty much let him have free reign to do whatever he wanted on the court, good or bad, without any fear of retribution. Pretty much the same role that appears to be Randy's now.

I'd be much more interested in Jamont's point of view considering he actually played for the guy and knows 100x more info on his ability as a coach than either of us. I'd also be very interested to hear his thoughts on the assistants as well.

Lots of people make lots of arguments against Stans but I've yet to see an opinion based on someone who actually played for him.

do it. He is not going to bash Stans, and he shouldn't, but he will give you honest insight to how Stans handles the team and coaches in practice and game time situations. Shane is solid when it comes to his basketball iq, and just good opportunity for anybody that has a chance to speak to him.

has been very supportive of Stansbury. He's given his opinion several times in interviews and a couple of times in print and he's always pro-Stansbury.

Thick was able to get a little more insight from Shane than anything in an interview or newspaper- good or bad

in a social/candid setting. Hes a straight shooter...Also, as i have tried to explain to gene on dozens of occassions, THEY DONT GIVE YOU WHAT OTHERS THAT ARE FRIENDS WITH THEM GET! YOU ARE THE MEDIA....not their "buddy"...That goes for coaches, players and everything else. He cant stand thinking that someone else knows more than him and truly believes that what they tell him is what they always "really" want to say or feel. Called coach speak and media speak their geno and others...
