I knew the moment Forrest fired the ball into the stands

We were going to lose.....winning teams don't do that.....losers do.....

Also, running the clock down to 10 seconds at the end of the half is inexcuseable by Stoops....Barker threw the ball away instead of extending the play (wide open Badet) because he couldn't chance the clock running out and no chance for a field goal......just terrible clock management.....all year by Stoops

Yep. He made the clock a factor in Barkers head. Stopping at 20 seconds would have be fine.
Just careless coaching.
These coaches are so bad I was expecting them to kick a FG on 3rd down.

Firing the ball into the stands also cost us 15 yds.
It was the 1st quarter for crying out loud.
We would never find the endzone again.

I had no issue with the time management at end of half. We got points (wish it was seven) but we didn't allow them to get points plus the ball. We still had a timeout. Very few plays from the four take ten seconds to run. Even if we get sacked (worst case) we still got three. Barker missed a wide open reciever who was the only person within 30 feet of a defender.

But by doing that it only gave The Cat's one chance to get the touchdown. When interviewed at the half Stoops acted like that was the greatest call ever made in College football.

Well we did kick the fg in fourth down. Unless your the 1990 Colorado buffalos, you only get four of those.

10 seconds is cutting it much too close for a play at the end of a half...as stated earlier 20 seconds would have been fine....Stoops was so worried about how he had screwed up other games at the end of half that he cut it much too close.

That said, we lose anyway because that's what we do...................really well

Very, very selfish act on the behalf of Forrest. As soon as he threw it into the stand, I knew the Cards would score on their next possession. Due to injuries, our kicking game has been bad and throwing that ball into the stands backed us up 15-yards. I don't think that particular kickoff got past the 50? Good teams do not do those things!

Todays athletes (for the most part) are all about making plays for THEMSELVES as opposed to the
team. Thus the inane celebrations directing attention to self. UL scored in like 3 plays after the penalty and short kickoff.

But you missed the point if you're complaining. HE scored a TD.

A play from the three isn't going to take ten seconds. Barker would have to have 7 seconds of protection. Time was not an issue. We had a run pass option. Would have liked to see a roll out, but still we got good protection, threw the pass to nicholasville road, and still had four seconds to spare.

That was exactly the right way to do it. It was third down and we still had a TO in our pocket. 10 seconds is MORE than enough time to run the play. We did not execute but still got 3 with no time left to even kick off. That series of time management was done correctly.

We lost by 14 after being spotted 21 at home. A lot more went wrong than those 2 plays that caused us to lose. I don't have the energy to nit pick every single play that went wrong today. I'm just kinda glad the season is over at this point. Is that bad?

Usually it's a lot of little reasons why you lose a football game...that was one of them. This team struggles enough with field position. Giving away 15 yards for no reason other than to show off is the mark of a loser.

I don't know if it showed loser. But it did show where our lack of a leadership role on the field was in the older guys.

Nope. He called a timeout after 1st down with 38 seconds left. Run your play with 25 seconds or so and you still have both t.o.'s for after 2nd and 3rd down and all plays are possible instead of having to throw on 3rd down.

Getting spotted 21 was the worse thing to happen to us. Three more quarters to play and they are trying to sit on the lead and let the clock run out. We looked great on our opening drive, we took it right in from the ten and then we completely lost momentum

That was stupid of Forrest! Automatically gave UL great field position and Forrest just laughed about it on the bench. If I was Stoops, I would have jerked a knot in his *** in front of everybody.
Coach Brooks would have done that. However, his teams were much too disciplined to do such as a thing as throw the ball into the stands after a td. I told my wife & boy that was a stupid play, UL should get the ball at around midfield & it would change the game.

I don't believe I have ever seen a football player throw a ball into the stands after he scores a touchdown, especially that early in the game. It was definitely a stupid thing to do.

Better yet, what would Jim McElwain have done to Forrest when he got back to the sideline?

Good teams do the celebration thing quite often and get penalized. The coaches go over and use it as a teaching moment. So saying good teams don't do that is wrong. What good teams do is either not let the other team take advantage or make a couple other plays later in the game so that doesn't hurt them. UK did neither
