I think 17 wins gets us there so we either have to win this week or a run in the tourney. Possibly the commitee will take into acount what we had to play with earlier in the year and regardless of what folks think, people would like to watch Bost, Sidney, and Johnson. It would be good for this team as far as Sidney, Lewis, Bryant, and Shaunessy getting some more experience.

I think we get a 4 or 5 seed in the NIT. Got a feeling we're going to matchup with an ACC tea in the first round - Clemson, NC State or Maryland. I also think that Arkansas and Ole Miss join us in the NIT. And Ole Miss will be a higher seed.

I can't believe I am looking at NIT projections, but right now, one has us missing the NIT and one has us as a #7 seed probably playing at Memphis.

I vote no on the CBI as well. There has to be some standard for basketball, even if we all don't agree on what the standard is.

I want as much PT for Sidney, Lewis, and Smith as possible. Would've been nice to get some for Jalen, but them's the breaks.
Anyway, I don't care that no SEC school has gone. There have been several BCS-level schools to go, so we'd hardly be a trendsetter.

That being said, the CBI would be a disappointment.

With 132 teams invited to all of the tournaments combined (NCAA, NIT, CBI and CIT), we should have a chance to play in the post season if we want to. The CIT has a requiremnt that you have 50% or more wins against DIV I teams. Do we have this?

The selection committe has some name coaches.

No more of this in the black crap....This team needs to keep playing to get the RSS in shape and work on defense for next year.

I don't think an sec team has every accepted a bid, and the reason they haven't is that it cost money to play in the CBI. Nobody wants to pay to play in a third tier tournament.

Has the NIT ever invited a team that was not in the top 100 in RPI? According to StatSheet, our RPI is 145 (can't claim credibility, but I assume our actual RPI isn't too far from this number). We are barely in the top half in the country according to RPI. I think we are on the bubble for the NIT if we win out and win a game or two in the SECT.
