I know it's not going to happen, but hey it's the holiday season and this is a message board.

Who should/would we hire after firing Rhule.

Give me some names guys. Let me daydream we are good at least.

And limit the amount of Saban and Meyer response. ;)

How do we keep hiring coaches who are not just football dumb, but just plain idiots? I’m guessing 5 minutes in a room with Rhule is enough to realize the guy is a moron. Not one play worked with HH ALL freaking year. EVERYBODY can see it except our coaching staff. It’s truly unbelievable…

I want a young under 35 coordinator or coach who leverages analytics and doesn't hire friends but hires the best staff, o-line, and d-line money can buy.
As much as we complain about them our win percentage with former coordinators is a lot better than with sitting Head coaches.

Um...No. You've got maybe the worst conference record in the league over the last 10 years.
I know it’s hard to keep up. Coaches don’t care about the last decade. They care about right now. Players from 8 years ago aren’t playing. Michigan State was in the playoffs almost 10 years ago. Doesn’t make them a destination today.

Sorry. Nebraska is a bottom tier program by every measure. Consistently bottom tier.

I’d take a hard look at Pat Fitzgerald, either of Indiana’s coordinators, Brent Vigen at Montana State…I’m just not sure pumping big bucks into a proven name is worth it anymore…have to hope we pull an Indiana and strike gold.

All that said, unless Penn State does something really stupid, we’re stuck with Rhule for the next 3-4 years

Everybody knew he was mediocre to bad, but most people don't expect Nebraska to get a good coach. The most national press that Rhule has gotten in 3 years had been whether he would leave NU to go to an actual good program like Penn State. There are many coaches who are flailing in the change that is college football, as the change has accelerated over the last 5 years. Rhule is stubborn and a control freak and no longer has any confidence in anything but his voice and ability to sway people. On paper this season was going to be a disaster...it was a defense first team last year, and they lost their entire defense outside of some secondary players, which are not important in the big 10. They lost their best coaches and fired their worst coaches, while maintaining a qb and oline coach who were not Rhule's preferred from a scheme or personnel perspective. It could be worse, Rhule has recently shown the ability to change, fire/hire coaches and try new things. The team will be a completely different team next year...and I guess the positive of ending so bad, is most people won't care.

Something hilariously ironic about a mid-tier program fan base obsessed with another mid-tier program and insisting they are not a mid-tier program just to deflect from the reality that their own program will be a perpetual mid-tier program.
The only thing that's hilarious is Nebraska fans like you acting like their program is even competitive with Iowa's anymore. 10 out of 11 games and Nebraska hasn't had a winning conference record in 10 years. Nebraska fans can only dream of being a mid tier program at this point. That's the cold hard reality bub.
