I know rpi means nothing this time of year, but

can someone explain to me exactly what goes into it? I mean, how could Ole Miss and USM possibly have a higher rpi than us right now? We have played Texas A&M, Arizona, Baylor, and a bunch of nobodys.....and USM and Ole Miss have just played a bunch of nobodys (including each other). In fact, I think USM played Belhaven and a SWAC school this past week. So even if rpi doesn't mean much right now, does it not still show that the rpi is flawed by it being so 17'ed up this time of year? For it to be so important come tourney time, I guess I just expect it to look a little more accurate right now.

If A&M can take care of business and live up to their preseason ranking, our RPI could skyrocket. Right now, their RPI is 242 and they aren't even considered a quality win. They play Baylor twice and looking at their schedule, the entire Big 12 is in the RPI top 100 except for Texas Tech.
