I know this is Alabama, but worth a read

I got this from a friend today:

<p class="ecxecxmsonormal">I have a friend (he is a huge Bama fan), who is in the hospital with cancer. The Dr's have given him just a few more days. They have stopped treating him and are now just managing his pain.

Seeing as how he is such a huge Bama fan, one of our buddies went to Childersburg on Saturday where Mt Cody was signing autographs. While my friend was getting Cody"s autograph for our friend in the hospital, he related the circumstances to him (Cody), about our friends situation. Cody signed and wrote him a very touching note. The guy then took the note and autograph to our friend in the hospital. It greatly lifted his spirit. But here is the cool part.

We were sitting around his hospital room about 6:00 o'clock Saturday evening and guess who comes walking into his room? Thats right, Mt Cody himself. He had his girlfriend and his manager (agent?) with him. He sat around, talked, took pictures and just hung out for about two hours. It was incredible. He did all this without being asked and said he just wanted to take the time to come by and wish my friend well. Needless to say it was better than any medicine the drs might have given him (and it was pretty cool for everyone else also).

We are and always will be huge Mt. Cody fans. He is now my all time favorite Bama player. Go Cody & RTR...

I am so much happier hating everything about Alabama or any the other schools/teams I despise.

Good job Mount Cody. You clearly touched this man in his final days, and while it won't cure him, he and his family have another happy memory to cling to.

Begrudgingly, thanks for posting Meridian.

I'll root for his success in the NFL. He sounds like he will likely understand the position he will be in as an NFL player and leverage that into being a positive influence on people that need it.

I still hate Bama though.

They still would have played Florida in the SEC title game and, winning that, gotten a berth in the NC. Maybe the rest of the games would have played out differently, but it's a big stretch to say they wouldn't have been #1 with that loss.
