Not coming together implies there is talent not meshing. This is the least talented bunch we've had since the Rick Ray days. Jans has officially used his mulligan and better figure out how to actually use the portal this year or we are going to be coach shopping in March of 2027.

Jans wanted out after last year, and it didn't happen. Sort of gave up a little when that team didn't go further than it did. So that led to a little 'dont give a 17' in the offseason. I could see a situation where we pull off some good things down the stretch and he circles the wagons to have a huge year next year and get out of town.

not because I think we are good. I just don’t think we are as bad as some of you emotional tards think we are.
They might beat LSU and South Carolina. Maybe sneak one in they aren’t supposed to win but that’s it.
We have 2 wins. Over teams that are a combined 3-9. And we have several really bad non conference losses. I don’t think it’s emotional to say this is a Rick Ray level bad team. It’s hard to see more than 4-6 wins.
He’s put out feelers the last two seasons. SMU two years ago and reportedly Arkansas last year before they hired Calipari.
There was plenty of smoke surrounding the Arky job. Reportedly he interviewed for it. Wasn’t a secret that he wanted that job.

Of course it didn't help. But he's human and it obviously happened to Mullen. Anybody with a brain knows that Mullen acted like a petulant child in the 2015-2016 offseason and half-asssed recruited. 17ed up the QB situation and 17ed up the USA game. He finally woke his butt up that year and went out and got all those JUCOs before 17, on top of all the upperclassmen we had an voila, he won his way out.
I suspect Jans will do the same. He's a good coach, that can't be debated.
The inabilities are outrageous. I don't even understand how he is still able to coach this team. I mean the money surely doesn't hurt but geez. Defense is non existent and offense is a basic free for all. The thing that got me was half the time, we were not able to inbound the ball after a made shot. I understand the players are not the most talented but... to get double digit turnovers on inbound plays is something I've really never witnessed.
