I like our park, but check out S. Carolina's new digs

That looks like Trustmark Park with Dudy-Noble's outfield fence.

Needless to say, that's a very nice ballpark.

It would be better if they had a place behind the outfield fence to grill, drink, etc. Any idea how many it will seat?

One major thing I dont like is the enterance being in the outfield,
but its simply the only solution with where its built.

to Ol Dudy Noble. I'm fine if we don't do ****.
I am NOT fine with having the 5th best baseball park in the SEC. We don't need to mess with the LFL or anything behind the outfield. However, vast improvements can be made to the seating areas. The ******** bleachers need to be taken out.We can expand seating all the way out to the foul poles and add boxes on top of those. Our stadium is big and nice but we could make it bigger and nicer. We have to keep up with the rest of the pack in the SEC. We call ourselves a baseball school so your crazy if you think we should do nothing.

This may be drastic, but has anyone else thought of this option?

We could tear down the current grandstands and build a brand new one. Of course it could go down the lines, and how about having a second deck kind of like Autozone Park? That would allow is to possibly have more seating and better sight lines while also potentially bringing our fans closer to the action. We could then add more luxury suites as well. Because whatever we do, we have to make sure that we can accomodate at least 14,000 people. The LFL certainly helps with that, but the advantage of the bleachers is that we can stuff as many people there as need be. Even if we expand the seats down the lines, odds are we are going to lose at least a little bit of capacity.

And I will say that I am not an architect, and I could be completely wrong about some of those things, plus I realize that building a new grandstand would be a major and expensive undertaking. (Paging Paul Maholm and Johnathan Papelbon, and getting ready to use Ron Polk trust fund).

Part of my ideas that I constantly envision every time I'm there..

- Chop off the Original grandstands roof and backing, remove press box...
- Build in the style of the last expansion with the the roofline joined from 1st to 3rd, filling in with new expanded press box and suites and club level(?)
-Enclose the new structure with a new brick entrance

If I can ever get ahold of some decent photos to work with, I would love to put the thoughts in my head to picture.

My suggestion would be to make the suites past the infield club level unless we could see them all for the whole season. The last two suite sections on each foul pole need to be made in to party suites that can be rented out on a game by game basis. Birthday parties and **** like that. Also, when they are not rented you could use them to host recruits. The press box and entrance need to desperately be redone. Also, if we could chop that hill in front of the stadium down it would look better. I also like what was suggested a while back with a play area and moving the visiting bullpen. Like this..</p>

put it into action within the next three years. This is to capitalize on the Cohen hype and to keep pace with the rest of the conference.

The big hurdle at Mississippi State has always been securing the funding for these projects and that will become an even bigger problem the longer the economy remains in the tank. Indications are that Byrne has been able to get the money necessary to build the basketball IPF and I'm told by reliable sources that revamping the west side of DWS is next on the pecking order. I simply don't see there being enough money to do the Dudy Noble expansion, in the manner we would like, unless a former player comes through with a substantial lead gift.
