There were 3 big network games tonight featuring 6 storied programs and every team somehow decided to wear THEIR school colors and traditional uniforms. We choose our unis on a week to week basis to try to attract attention. That`s just weak to me.

We are not a "storied" program. I get your point, but I'm all for changing them. Recruits like it.

I'll let Nick Saban(Best coach in colllege football, who should know about recruiting) comment:

Remember, we are not Alabama...we are the other team...

Nick Saban: Well, I think there are two sides to that. I think this is a generation gap question, because we have a lot of folks, like at Alabama, who are traditionalists. And they have an expectation of what an Alabama football team should look like. It's a uniform that they've seen for years and years and years and years. And it's a tradition that they expect. And then you have the younger generation that kind of likes the changes, and the souped-up uniforms and the chrome headgear, and things that are more MTV-like, you know? So I think you have to create a balance between the two when you're in a leadership position to try to respect both sides of it and try to do a little of all of it.

or Dan Mullen...

Dan Mullen: I think it helps in recruiting. It shows you're not afraid to think outside the box, or try something new or be creative. Our guys, we've done that. We've gone out and put on a new style uniform at least once or twice a year besides the traditional. Not just recruiting. Our kids get all fired up about it too. On game day, just try something new. It takes me back to my college days, when you used to get that shirt and tie on for that big human anatomy/physiology exam ... the look good, feel good, do good approach. I think they take that the same way on game day with the uniforms.

U know, it's sad that Ohio had that moment captured on film with Russel and we had the absolute, hands-down, unthoughtful, least effort, noncreative, sad, ******, pics-from-a-phone-camera, etc..., worst "new uni unveiling" , probably in the entire country, with ADIDAS. Not to mention, we let our new TWIN unveil theirs first. I wouldn't really mind the horizontal shoulder stripes (kinda unique and u don't see it too often) , BUT DON'T PUT THE SAME DAMN UNIQUE STYLE ON OUR NEW TWIN!! U stupid 17's!!!!!!!!! Anyway, setting yourself apart is important, news-worthy, and hip. I get that. But we definitely fumbled on it.

I think the white stripe on the jersey and helmet make the pants look out of place. If the top and helmet were all maroon, the pants would look much better. I've been wanting silver too, but it just didn't look quite right.

Those big stripes gotta go.

..referring to the fact that it's been posted on this board that the gray trousers remind them of Mississippi...that's when.
