The Mississippi State was going to win the game anyway. Let 50 players get meaningful snaps for the first 3 games of the season. There's going to be attrition when we get to the SEC games. You know the SEC opponents are going to target Dak, take out his knees, step on his foot, take an extra head-shot or three. Damian Williams looked bad yesterday, but The Mississippi State University needs him ready to go.

It's not that I don't want Williams to play, but for goodness sakes put the game away first. At minimum be up 3 touchdowns before he comes in.

I think you are right. Play some of the so call 1b guys, when it gets time to be serious then let's see who gets the most snaps. Why the panic by some of the fans, I didn't like giving up 5 big plays or getting behind but at least we know we can turn it up a notch, at least for now. Also, playing a bunch of players keeps them involved and should make competition better in the long run. Seeing who can play now is better than not knowing going into the Lsu game.

Do you mean put the game away like last year against Bowling Green? Or was it Kentucky? I forget.

With Dan always going conservative in the 3rd Qtr (or the lack of halftime adjustments), the first qtr really doesn't make a difference.

We will see if you still think that way after we piss away 4 possessions with Williams in the first half and lose to South Alabama by one point.

What does Williams have to do with missed XP's?**

ETA: Even with the pissed away 4 possessions with Williams, State gained around 350 yards in the first half. If you need a comparison, A&M in 2012 put up 408 yards on State in the first half on 24 points.

No, I mean second half and up by at least 21 pts. Agree with you that you don't go conservative on no one, step on their neck and keep it there until they don't flinch anymore.

Yeah I don't like it much but let's all be honest here. Other than 4 long balls our defense done great and our offense 1b still needs work. The yardage on those 4 balls are over 300 yards. Knock those down and it's more like 47-6. If any other team in the nation substitutes like that they would struggle. I think we are fine except kicking. That's going to kill us this year

Mullen either did all that on purpose to punk LSU out and keep Dak fresh or he's just a complete moron.

Based on his track record I have a feeling he's completely oblivious, but he has given MSU it's best 4 year stretch in school history (not too hard to do) and has turned a lot of scrubs into all-conference types.

We'll either point back to this game as the beginning of the end or the beginning of genius for Mullen.

We also didn't have the depth we have this year

We are a lot better team this year than last year. Receivers are night and day. Defensive line is getting pressure where last year we didn't. Even with Redmond getting burned, he did a great job in run support. The only thing I'm disappointed about is I was hoping Dak would be better with his timing and had better touch on his balls. He has sucked *** on fade routes and jump balls. And of course the dreaded kicking game. Other than that, I think we are a lot better team than last year.

Les Miles approves.

Anybody see the point in the Bama game where Kiffin told their QB "don't come out of here with a FG, it's embarrassing!"

We don't have that mindset... I wanna say that was when they were already up 28 or so points.

We needed to humiliate and deflate UAB early in the game and instead we let them think they had a chance... In truth, they did.

Maybe he`s saying....if you can`t kick worth a **** you might want to try to score all the TD`s you can BEFORE you start working on your subs if there is a chance of it being a close game...just a guess

You just sold me on Mullen's tactics because I NEVER want to emulate Lane Kiffin…ever… He's a douche.
