I don't think Thomas counts as last minute in this context since he seemed to want to commit/sign with us all along.

Right, but it's not like we changed his mind at the last minute. We might have changed the minds of whoever wasn't allowing him to commit to us previously, but all signs indicate that he himself decided on us months ago.

Edit: I'm talking about this strictly in the context of the "cuts both ways" comment. I'm not arguing at all that we didn't legitimately flip him and that we did well by doing so.

What was he supposed to say, "My parents won't let me go to MSU, so I'm choosing between UT and Clemson?" I thought it was common knowledge that he'd tried to commit to us twice before today and his handlers wouldn't let him.

57% to Clemson is not even close to 70% to State. The last 16 entries, the first entries since late October, were all to Clemson.

I don't have access to 247. But Steve called Thomas to State last night. Granted, it was 24 hours after he said we were out of it.

that is not to say it didn't change. I'm pretty sure I looked at rivals, yahoo, and 247 prior to the announcement, and we were listed but with no percentage points. It was a clemson lean, but still committed to Tenn. That is not to say it did not change along the way.

I heard the talk. I don't believe Rosebowl. I heard coach66 suggest it, and he was right. We also thought we were getting Tee Shepard yesterday morning. I really wanted OJ Smith, but what can you do when Bama finds a spot for him.

Either way I am glad to have him with the schools on his list. Great size, maybe he can play quickly. offers according to ESPN.
