I liked the big lineup in the first half last night.

Bost, Stewart, Kodi, Romero, and Varnado were on the court together to end the first half. It took them about 2 minutes to take the lead from 2 to 9. I realize we can't start this group together right now because our bench will be too thin but if Riek and Lewis can keep developing and come off the bench then I would love to see Stansbury use that group together more against some of the bigger teams.

he put Augustus and Turner in the game at the same time in the second half. I thought it worked well.

They realized Kodi knew more than they did??????

Kodi flipped his lid after the first freaking game of the year, got suspended for being an idiot, and Stansbury never had a chance to even try the two in the lineup together. For the record, Kodi and Phil both did some pretty dumb stuff last night, as did Bost. Bone head does not begin to describe some of the turnovers they had.

If Kodi is the smartest guy on the team then we are 17ed.

Stansbury doesnt play them together at all in game 1
Kirby tells Kodi that they can't do it
Kodi announces to the media the coach says they can't do it

Kodi's first game back- they suddenly do it...

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm......

Does the 1996 team many anything to you? No, Stansbury wasn't the head coach then ...

He started the game, but was on the bench when the second half began (Kodi was in). To me, Phil usually looks happy when on the court, but the entire second half last night he looked visually upset, not even cracking a smile after lobbing an alley-oop to Lewis. At timeouts, he was constantly jawing at other players, specifically Ravern, Dee, and Wendell. When he was finally pulled (~4min left?), Twany had to pull him out of the huddle because he was yelling and pointing at Ravern. When he was pulled he went and sat on the corner of the lower gray seats - not on the bench.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

For the record, Kodi isn't out there to be smart. He is out there to shoot 40-something%, rebound, and to help us win games. For the vast majority of his games he has done just that. He is consistently good when given the opportunity. Coach Stans is the one who is supposed to handle business and be the brains behind everything.

Have you ever thought that Kodi saying that he wanted him and Phil to be on the court at the same time was a nice way of saying Randy and Ravern suck and play like pussies and we can't win with them getting significant minutes? That may well be the case too.

The large lineup (Osby, Kodi & Jarvis in together) played very well together last night. Stans is not an idiot. I hope that he will go back to that.....however the challenge will come when we face better teams with better defenses and we fail to move much on offense and get appropriate spacing, cutting lanes to the basket, etc....we will see.

Phil was all business and seemed to be really pissed. He is an intense dude it seems.

When he threw the alley-oop for Lewis or whomever it was, the guy tried to give Phil a high five on the way back down the court and Phil wouldn't even look at him, game face etc..... There was another time Phil tried to pass the ball to someone on a dunk and the ball bounced of the guys chest (not looking for the pass) and Phil was furious. While Phil was yelling at one side of the huddle (Ravern I think), someone else was yapping on the other side of the huddle, can't recall who that was....maybe Kodi? I hope they get things sorted out quickly.
