he was clearly mad as hell during his postgame interview after his closer gave up 3 runs yesterday...they asked him about his closer- he replied:

"I have no closer- I may have to call Bobby Thigpen. Thats why I'm here sitting at this goddamn table. When we win, they are here and you are treating them like heroes. When we lose, I'm sitting here at this17'ing table talking about why we 17'ing lost"

thats awesome. Would have loved to play for him</p>

...his closer (Thornton) has two blown saves because Juan Pierre can't catch fly balls (3 errors already, 2 in the 9th inning). What does Ozzie do to bolster Thornton's confidence? He comes out and says he's no longer the closer. Then, yesterday, he lets two other relievers (Sale & Crain) give up a four run lead and get the bases loaded, then he calls on Thornton to get out of the jam. Thornton does. And when he stumbles in the 10th, Ozzie throws him under the bus. Plus, Ozzie is a top level douche.

Oz is hilarious. He's a different cat and doesn't hold back. I couldn't care less about someone who doesn't perform than job (in general) being called on it. In this case, closers.

kind of a small sample size wouldn't you say? Jenks had a 4.44 era last year, so not exactly someone you would want as your closer. Ozzie is a much better manager than people give him credit for.
