I may get blasted for this, but I feel bad for Cam

for having to have Cecil as his father. The guy legitimately wanted to come to state with no $$$$ exchanging hands, and now his dad has him in this position. Part of the alleged evidence is him calling saying that he's sorry that he can't come and that he really wanted to honor his "commitment" (I didn't think he ever committed, but I guess he did tell our players he was coming)

By all accounts, he just wanted to play college football (for Mullen, which mean us) and his dad had to be all greedy about it.

Don't be too sad for him though. He will have a nice and prosperous career in the NFL - as long as he hires a professional financial adviser and stops listening to dad.

If what has come out so far is true, Cam is not the villain. His dad is. He wanted to come play for Mullen, but his dad had already pimped him to the highest bidder.

Funny thing is, like Albert Means he'll never see a penny of that $200,000 he was bought and paid for. Maybe the Dallas Cowboys will make up for that when he's their Number One overall pick in the 2011 draft.</p>

and I were Cam, my dad wouldhavenever done this to me...EVER.<div>
</div><div>Also, I would have told my dad to wait for a year till the time I get drafted, when $200000 would have seemed like small change by then.</div>

He's at least as big a douche as his dad is. Lets look at his record. Stolea laptop and got caught for academic fraud 3 times in only 1-1/2 year at Auburn. Then sold himself to Auburn for $200,000 when he was all but committed to play for MSU. Don't think for a second that he's just some good kid whose dad pushed him to do wrong. It's not like he's some unwilling participant in this.

Cam has all the talent in the world. But right now it looks like he's getting screwed up by rich men with money. He and daddy are coming out more and more tainted in this whole story and Cam is looking like the biggest loser right now. If not for this, no one would have really known about the cheating either. From now on, when anyone mentions Cam Newton's name, they will see greatness with one eye and corruption with the other. It will soften over time but the stigma and the story and the accusations will be there for a long time, even if he's "cleared". There's too much out there now, even if it's all rumor.

Choices have consequences. I do feel bad for Cam sort of, but on the other hand, if you make your bed, you have to lie in it too. And to echo what MSUbullie4life said, "my dad would have never done this to me" either.

Seriously, Cecil is by far the biggest douche in this deal. He is supposed to be an adult and for goodness sakes a proclaimed man of god. Cam is a very large adolescent but he is still just that and yes he has made a ton of mistakes but I do feel some pain for Cam. If he had a good father none of this crap would have happened and for all the people blaming MSU, 17 off, we did the right thing.

I don't get thisargument.<div>
</div><div>180k is a lot, but after getting signing a in the NFL, I think its smallpotatoes.</div><div>
</div><div>So you are saying that you would potentially 17 State over 180k that you would probably get later on???</div><div>
</div><div>I don't feel sorry at all for short-minded, greedy, ignorant people that fail to see the big picture and can't makedecisionsfor themselves.</div>
